Janet Jackson Postpones Tour Dates Again, European Leg In Jeopardy

Janet Jackson has decided to postpone the entire European leg of her tour. What was only believed to be a temporary postponement seems more permanent now.

Although the UK portion of her tour was set to kick off in three weeks, Janet Jackson (via Ticketmaster) has given fans a heads up that the whole entire leg has been postponed.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Ticketmaster has sent out an e-mail that states, “It is not possible to confirm new dates at the present time so we are refunding all ticket holders.”

It is assumed that this is due to a mysterious illness that Janet Jackson is currently dealing with. The singer had to go under the knife, and rumors started to circulate that it could be cancer. Although Jackson is a private person, she has stated that it isn’t cancer and that she is tending to her illness.

Last time Janet Jackson postponed dates, it seemed like there was more communication, but right now, this cancellation seems to be a last minute decision, given that Jackson has yet to release a statement personally.

Additionally, those dates of her European leg have been removed from Ticketmaster. Usually, when dates are postponed, the shows are still listed with a TBA next to where the date is. However, considering Ticketmaster has wiped all of the dates, it’s safe to assume that the whole leg has been canceled.

When she postponed her North American dates, Jackson wrote a personal statement.

“It breaks my heart to tell you that I am forced to postpone the Unbreakable Tour until the spring. Every date will be rescheduled. Please hold on to your tickets. They will be honored in a special way when the new schedule is announced.”

The last tweet she made about the tour was the following.

Fans seem confused that the European leg is up in the air given that the last we heard from Jackson, she was recovering and was signed off to return to the stage by her doctors.

In January, she posted a video, in which she said, “The rumors are untrue. I do not have cancer. I’m recovering. My doctors have approved my concerts as scheduled in Europe, and as I promised, the postponed shows will be rescheduled.”

She also tweeted the following in regard to the rumors.

“Remember…believe it when you hear it from my lips. The rumors are untrue. I do not have cancer. I’m recovering.”

In February, the Inquisitr reported that Jackson was on the mend, which was in line with what she had personally said. According to a report via Radar Online, a source close to the situation said that Jackson was healing.

“The surgery was a complete success! It turned out it was not as bad as everyone initially thought, and doctors were able to remove the entire tumor.”

Despite the European tour dates being canceled or on hold, it’s said that the U.S. “Unbreakable” tour dates are still ready to go. Her first date in the U.S. is on June 24 in New Jersey.

Here’s how fans are reacting to the news.

Update: According to Ticketmaster, the official reason for the cancellation is due to “scheduling issues.”
