Christina Aguilera & Gwen Stefani Planning ‘Girl Power’ Duet As Feud Rumors Swirl

Gwen Stefani and Christina Aguilera are allegedly planning on hitting the studio together as rumors swirl that the two are locked in a pretty nasty feud.

According to a new report by Hollywood Life, Stefani and Aguilera are planning on teaming up for a “girl power” duet that will put an end to rumors that they’ve been locked in a pretty nasty feud as they alternate judging positions on NBC’s The Voice.

An insider close to Christina and Gwen reportedly revealed to Hollywood Life that the duet idea was originally Aguilera’s, as she’s had so much success teaming up with her fellow The Voice coaches in the past (Christina worked with Adam Levine on “Moves Like Jagger” and Blake Shelton on “Just a Fool”).

“Christina knows that teaming up with someone on The Voice to make a hit song definitely works,” the insider told the site earlier this week, adding that Aguilera “wants to see if lightning strikes again” by hitting the studio with Gwen for a “girl power” anthem.

The source also revealed that Stefani and Aguilera are currently busy thinking up ideas for their possible team up but hinted that Gwen and Christina are hoping that their track will be hitting the airwaves before the current 10th season of The Voice comes to a close this May.

The news of a possible duet comes after weeks of reports that Gwen and Christina haven’t exactly been seeing eye to eye in recent months.

Radar Online most recently alleged that Christina was feuding with both Gwen and Blake Shelton after Aguilera opted to take back her seat on the coaching panel for the current season, meaning the “Sweet Escape” singer had to sit the current season out.

The site alleged that Shelton “hates” that girlfriend Gwen Stefani is no longer sitting alongside him on the popular NBC singing show and even suggested that Blake was taking out his anger on Christina for opting to return to the series.

“Everyone knows this and he is taking it out on Christina,” the source said, adding that Blake and Aguilera “are not getting along at all” on the set.

“It’s Blake’s mission to make this as uncomfortable as possible for Christina so that she will not want to return next season,” the insider continued.

However, Christina supposedly isn’t letting Blake’s antics worry her and is “acting her normal self” on the show.

“That’s just who she is and nothing has really changed between this season and past seasons that she’s been on,” the source said.

But while Stefani may not be an official adviser on the current season of the reality hit, Shelton did find a way to get his lady onto the show.

As Hollywood Life previously reported, Shelton brought back Gwen as Team Blake’s official mentor for the current season, which he feels will make him “unbeatable” when it comes to squaring up against Christina, Pharrell, and Adam Levine.

“Blake feels that with Gwen on his side he will win the show,” the insider told the site, adding that Shelton loves Stefani so much that he’s willing to give Gwen “all the credit” should he win the show “because she has introduced him to so many other music avenues that he feels now that he should be considered unbeatable.”

“The show really still means something to him and sharing a win with Gwen makes him feel really proud. It is one more thing they can share as a couple,” Hollywood Life’s source continued.
