‘The Bachelorette’ To Feature Jordan Rodgers, Brother of Packers QB Aaron Rodgers

The Bachelorette just got a whole lot more exciting for football fans. Amid rumors that recently ousted Bachelor constant Caila Quinn will be the new Bachelorette, Us Weekly reports that Jordan Rodgers, the younger brother of Aaron Rodgers, will compete for her heart on the upcoming 12th season of the ABC dating show.

Multiple sources confirmed to the celebrity gossip magazine that Jordan Rodgers, the brother of Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, will be a contestant on the new season of The Bachelorette.

Jordan Rodgers is 27-years-old and, like his big bro, he’s also a football player. Before scoring a job as quarterback for the BC Lions in the Canadian Football League, Rodgers was an undrafted free agent in the NFL. Rodgers played briefly with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Miami Dolphins, and Jacksonville Jaguars before heading to the CFL and retiring last May, according to SB Nation. Jordan won’t be the first celebrity sibling to appear on the rose-filled reality franchise. In 2005, actor Jerry O’Connell’s brother Charlie was cast as The Bachelor.

While ABC has not yet announced the new Bachelorette, all bets are on Quinn, who finished in third place on Ben Higgins’s season of The Bachelor this year. Quinn is the daughter of Step2 CEO Chris Quinn, and she was recently spotted with a camera crew in her hometown of Hudson, Ohio, according to TMZ.

Onlookers were reportedly asked to sign release forms to appear on television, but the crew did not reveal what show they were filming. But considering Caila was seen sitting in a gazebo and then visiting Western Reserve Academy (her alma mater), it sure sounds like a Bachelorette intro package was in the works.

The Bachelorette will be under a lot of scrutiny next season, so producers need to get the casting right. Earlier this year, ABC Entertainment boss Paul Lee told Entertainment Weekly that he would be “very surprised” if the next season of The Bachelorette wasn’t “diverse.” Lee didn’t specify that he was referring to the race of The Bachelorette star when he was talking about diversity, but the ABC franchise has long been under fire for never signing a person of color for a lead on the show. In 31 seasons of the reality franchise, there has been one Latino Bachelor. Only white women have ever been cast as The Bachelorette.

Caila Quinn could fit the bill as a more diverse Bachelorette. The brunette beauty is half Filipino and half German/Irish/Swiss, according to her ABC bio. And in an interview with E! News, Caila said she’s open to being the next Bachelorette star.

“Because I fell in love before I could see myself falling in love again, so yes, I would consider it. But I definitely need to take a deep breather for myself and kind of take some me time.”

Considering her “breakup” scene on The Bachelor was filmed last fall, she has probably had enough time, which is probably why Caila then said this when asked about The Bachelorette.

“I’m ready for love. I’m ready for the one and for my best friend and I’m still looking for that.”

And to add even more credibility to the rumors about the identity of the next Bachelorette, spoiler king Reality Steve dropped the news last week that the third-place finisher will definitely be the lady who’s doing the roses next season.

Of course, nothing is official until ABC announces it, but expect that the name of the Bachelorette star will be revealed during the Bachelor finale.
