Marla Maples Supports Ex-Husband Donald Trump Ahead Of ‘DWTS’
Marla Maples is headed to the Dancing with the Stars ballroom, but no matter how smooth her dance moves are, she won’t be able to dodge questions about her ex-husband, Donald Trump, and his presidential race. Maples was recently asked what she thinks of The Donald’s White House bid. According to Inside Edition, Marla at first joked that she didn’t know her ex was a GOP front-runner before commenting on the fact that her 22-year-old daughter, Tiffany, is the daughter of the real estate mogul and has even joined her father on the campaign trail.
“Let me just tell you. He’s the father of my beautiful daughter and I support her in everything.”
While her ex is now married to his third wife, Melania, Marla Maples still joked that she would rather be First Lady than the first ex-wife of the White House.
“I think I’d rather be in there!”
Marla Maples married Donald Trump in 1993 after they engaged in a highly publicized affair. After the real estate mogul split from his first wife Ivana, he and Marla were married for six years before they divorced. Maples moved to the West Coast with their daughter while the future Celebrity Apprentice star stayed in New York.
Marla Maples has never publicly trashed Trump and remains on amicable terms with him. In fact, Marla has given his ego a big boost at times — even if it wasn’t always intentional. In a 2013 interview with Oprah: Where Are They Now? Marla said she still has strong feelings for her ex-husband as well as his three older children, Eric, Donnie, and Ivanka, from his marriage to Ivana.
“I still love Donald.”
But Maples made it clear that she raised their daughter Tiffany as a single mom. And she doesn’t seem to hold a grudge about that at all.
“I’ve had a real blessing of being able to raise Tiffany as a single parent. Her daddy of course took care of school, her education, and some of our needs, but as far as the day-to-day parenting, I’ve been the one here.”
Marla Maples made headlines 20 years ago when she reportedly described Trump as giving her “the best sex” of her life. Maples’ supposed comments about her sex life with Trump were plastered all over the front of the New York Post.

Two decades later, Maples told Access Hollywood that she didn’t really remember saying that, and if she did, she hadn’t meant for that information to be a headline. She also called the whole experience “pretty awful” and “humiliating” for her after she was asked if she thought her egotistical ex planted the story for the tabloids.
“Let’s put it this way — I think [Donald] had an opportunity to [take] that story out of the papers and he chose not to. That was pretty awful at the time. Now it’s funny to look back on, but at the time it was so humiliating!…Did I ever say it? I don’t want to destroy him! Maybe I whispered it somewhere along the way? But not for public domain.”
Of course, given her ex-husband’s recent talk about his “manhood” (during a presidential debate, no less), Marla’s comments about him will likely come back to haunt her. The former Georgia beauty queen will be a guest co-host on The View on Friday, March 11, so it will be surprising if the View ladies don’t corner her on that topic during her visit to the daytime chat show. Marla Maples kicks off her stint on Dancing with the Stars on March 21.
