Margot Robbie Insists She’s More Excited For ‘Suicide Squad’ Than You

Most of us are preposterously excited for Suicide Squad. How could we not be? The trailers for the upcoming DC film have made it look like an absolute riot, with everyone from Will Smith to Jared Leto, and especially Margot Robbie looking the part.

But while audiences and moviegoers can’t wait until Suicide Squad’s release towards the end of the summer, Margot Robbie herself has now insisted that her anticipation outdoes everyone else’s.

Speaking to Hello Giggles, the 25-year-old actress emphatically declared, “I think I’m more excited than anyone about this movie. When people are like, ‘I can’t wait to see it.’ I’m like, ‘You’ve got no idea, I want to see it more than you do.’ I think it’s going to be cool.”

Discussing how she originally signed up to the project, Margot Robbie admitted that she joined up before there was even a script or the rest of the cast had agreed, insisting that she was immediately enchanted by the character of Harley Quinn.

“I just love that there’s a chick characters who’s that badass, and who’s actually, like funnier and crazier and stronger than some of the males,” Robbie continued. “I think that rarely happens.”

Suicide Squad will once again pit Margot Robbie up against Will Smith, who the Australian actress previously starred opposite in Focus. Suicide Squad sees a rag-tag team of super villains put together so that they can execute a top secret mission, which is believed to be a suicide mission.

However, if they succeed and survive, then they are given their freedom. As well as Margot Robbie and Will Smith, Suicide Squad also featured Jai Courtney, Jared Leto, Viola Davis, and Cara Delevingne in supporting roles.

Margot Robbie also admitted during her chat with Hello Giggles that in order to find the perfect cinematic guise for Harley Quinn, she tried on a variety of different outfits and garments that were inspired by the many iterations of the character from the animated series and comic-books.

In the end, they landed with the attire that she has on in the film. While some die-hard comic book fans have voiced their disapproval of her outfit, Margot Robbie insisted that there are going to be plenty more opportunities for her to wear different costumes.

“I cannot emphasize enough how many outfits, and how many variations of the Harley Quinn costume we tried,” Margot Robbie explained. “We tried the court jester costume, we tried the corset and skirt, we tried leather pants, we tried literally every type of costume possible for her. I really love where we ended up. And who knows, maybe in the sequels we’ll go with the court jester one. I think there’s a world of possibilities.”

While many movie fans are chomping at the bit to see Suicide Squad, their thirst will be somewhat quenched when Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice is released at the end of this month. The superhero hybrid brings together the two DC icons for a titanic tussle, and while its the follow-up to 2013’s Man Of Steel, Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice will also kick-start Warner Bros.’ DC cinematic universe.

After being followed by Suicide Squad, the likes of Wonder Woman, Justice League Parts One and Two, The Flash, Aquaman, Shazam, Cyborg, and Green Lantern Corps will all be released in the ensuing years, while there’s also likely to be a solo Batman and another solo Superman film too, as well as the Suicide Squad sequels too.
