Gwen Stefani Gushes Over Blake Shelton’s ‘Personal’ New Album, Admits She ‘Got To Hear It First’

Gwen Stefani has not been shy about showing her support for boyfriend Blake Shelton during the country singer’s current tour, so it’s no surprise that when Gwen finally got a glimpse of what Shelton has planned for his upcoming album, she took to Twitter to gush over the impending project to her followers.

Nearly one week after Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton ignited engagement rumors during their red carpet debut at the Vanity Fair Oscars party last Sunday, Stefani took to Twitter to reveal that she was the first person to have listened to Blake’s soon-to-be released new album.

In response to a tweet from Kelly Clarkson, who referred to Blake’s new album as “amazing,” Gwen took to Twitter on March 5 to reveal, “@kelly_clarkson @blakeshelton sooooooo good #newmusic #gottohearitfirst #lucky.”

Stefani’s comments regarding Blake Shelton’s new album comes just days ahead of the release for the album’s first official single, “Came Here to Forget,” which is set to premiere on Tuesday, March 8.

Speaking on the album’s lead single, Shelton previously explained that “Came Here to Forget” gives “a direct look” into his personal life before admitting that he’s “so excited about this particular song,” Taste of Country reports.

As for what fans can expect for the rest of Blake Shelton’s new project, the singer previously opened up to Country Countdown USA about drawing inspiration from his “personal life” to help pen new tracks for the upcoming album.

“All the awful things that have happened in my personal life,” Shelton explains the inspiration behind his new album. “But the way the year ended is also the greatest of my life.”

While it’s heavily rumored that Blake’s new music will reference his current relationship with Gwen Stefani and his abrupt divorce from Miranda Lambert, the singer admits that he’s excited to be able to “just lay it out there for people” in the new record.

“I’m doing what I’m supposed to do,” Shelton explained. “And that’s put all I’ve gone through and put it into music, and I never felt more connected to a record before. When people hear this record, they may not know what happened to me, but they’re gonna know how I felt about it.”

“And that’s exciting for me, to just lay it out there for people.”

Gwen Stefani’s public support of Blake’s upcoming album comes just one day after a rep for the No Doubt songstress dispelled engagement rumors for the couple, who confirmed their relationship status in November.

Engagement rumors for Blake and Gwen began last Sunday after the duo made their red carpet debut during the Vanity Fair Oscars party on February 28, only to be further fueled by the fact that Gwen was spotted wearing a diamond ring on her left ring finger.

While neither Gwen nor Blake spoke out in regard to the newly engaged claims, Stefani’s rep revealed to Gossip Cop that the couple is “not engaged” and that the ring was “one of several pieces of jewelry she wore for the glamorous evening.”

Similarly, a source close to Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton recently revealed to People that while the The Voice duo is not engaged just yet, there is hope for a “longterm future.”

“They seem too perfect for each other for it to just be a fluke,” the source explains, before noting that they’re “not putting pressure on themselves” to get married and are “just enjoying life together.”

“They seem too perfect for each other for it to just be a fluke,” the source concludes. “For now, they seem happy with their relationship, but Blake is old-fashioned and a future engagement seems very possible.”
