Shailene Woodley Feels Sad As ‘Allegiant’ Wraps Up, What’s Next For Her And Theo James?

In less than two weeks, Allegiant will finally hit theater screens and with one movie left in the franchise, Shailene Woodley admits that she already feels a certain sadness. Last March 1, some of the cast members joined the Pledge Allegiant Day, wherein they temporarily took over the films’ social media accounts to interact with fans.

Shailene answered some of the fans’ questions via Facebook. When asked how she feels now that the franchise is about to end, she admits having mixed emotions.

“I feel really excited to explore this final chapter in Tris’ life, as well as a certain sadness to be leaving behind a family that has been created because of these films.”

The actress also talked about the team’s fondness for having barbeques and volleyball games. Shai also has a message for her character Tris.

“I’m proud of you. I’m proud and inspired by your ability to listen to your intuition and integrity and fight for the causes you believe so passionately about. I would give her the advice of listening and responding to others more, taking into account their positions on any given situation.”

The final book of the series will follow the journey of Tris and Four as they explore life beyond the walls of Chicago. They will uncover truths and lies about the faction system they once thought was everything life could offer. The book will be divided into two parts – Divergent Series: Allegiant and Divergent Series: Ascendant.

While many lauded Shailene for her performances in different projects like The Fault in Our Stars and television series The Secret Life of the American Teenager, fans saw her edgy side when she joined the film adaptation of Veronica Roth’s novels. During the Facebook Q&A, Shailene also told young women to believe in their potentials.

“Just remember we are already whole, we already possess the ability to love ourselves and be happy, because we ARE happiness. We ARE love. The only thing that gets in the way of us recognizing our highest potential and nature is our thought process that puts our worth in the hands of how others view us.”

Now that Divergent will soon conclude, what is next for Shailene and Theo?

Shai is set to appear in Oliver Stone’s biopic, Snowden, this September. She will play the role of Lindsay Mills, the girlfriend of infamous whistleblower Edward Snowden (Joseph Gordon-Levitt). She also started filming for an upcoming seven-episode HBO series, Big Little Lies. Some of the stars on board are Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, and Alexander Skarsgard.

Theo has many things on his plate, too. Following the release of War on Everyone, he’s committed to The Secret Scripture, London Fields, and Underworld: Next Generation. According to Variety, Theo is being eyed as well as a replacement for Josh Hutcherson in the political thriller, Backstabbing for Beginners.

Apart from his work, the British actor is reportedly looking forward to plan his nuptials with longtime girlfriend Ruth Kearney. Even if several headlines have a penchant for portraying Theo and Shailene as “secret lovers,” Theo’s relationship with his fiancée remains strong.

It was previously reported that the couple’s not in a rush to tie the knot because of their hectic schedules. Nonetheless, Theo always takes the Flaked actress on vacations whenever they have downtime.

Furthermore, Theo has always been vocal that all he has with Shailene is friendship. He once revealed to Dazed Digital that working with the Divergent cast was fun and “felt like camp” because they all shared one apartment. He joked about sharing a single bed with his leading lady to make fun of the rumors about their closeness.
