Amy Adams: I Want ‘Star Wars’ And James Bond Roles

Amy Adams has admitted that she’d love to appears in a Star Wars film, while she also revealed that, if the opportunity arises, she wouldn’t say no to being a Bond girl, too.

The 41-year-old actress outlined her career ambitions while talking to GQ UK, via the Mirror, confirming that, like millions of other people across the globe, she was a huge fan of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

In fact, Amy Adams was so taken with the blockbuster behemoth that she has now set her sights on landing a part in either Episode VIII or Episode IX.

Adams also confessed that she’s not picky when it comes to her role in the film too, as she admitted that she’d be willing to take on any part. “We’d figure it out,” Amy Adams admitted after making her admission. “I’ll play a creature! I don’t care. Put the dots on my face and I’ll crawl around.”

When she asked if that meant she’d have no problem playing a Wookiee, Amy Adams insisted that, because of her stature, she’d probably be more suited to playing an Ewok.

If Amy Adams is serious about getting a role in Star Wars 8, then she’ll have to get a move on. Writer and director Rian Johnson began shooting on the sequel to J.J. Abrams’s seventh installment to the franchise two weeks ago, and it’s widely believed that the final casting for the film was completed several weeks ago.

Amy Adams will have more of a chance landing a role in Star Wars Episode 9, which is being written by Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly, with Trevorrow then continuing on his duties as the film’s director too.

While Star Wars 8’s release date of December 15, 2017, is now less than two years away, Star Wars 9 won’t be with us until 2019, and it’s only likely to start production at some point in 2018. That means that Amy Adams has got some time to prove to Colin Trevorrow that she is right for the film.

However, that shouldn’t be too much of a problem considering the Oscar nominated actress’ hugely impressive CV, which boasts appearances in Enchanted, Man Of Steel, Doubt, The Fighter, and American Hustle.

But Amy Adams doesn’t just have her sights on a role in the Star Wars franchise. Adams has also admitted that she’d love to appear as a Bond girl, too. However, she believes that she doesn’t possess the “mysterious” physical characteristics to land such a part.

Continuing in her interview, Amy Adams declared, “I mean, I’d love to be a Bond girl. But it would depend. I don’t see myself like Eva Green, she’s so gorgeous and mysterious, I don’t see myself like that.”

Meanwhile, Amy Adams admitted that she has made the decision to reduce the amount of roles that she takes so that she can spend more time with her 5-year-old daughter, Aviana, as well as her husband Darren Le Gallo.

Adams explained, “I made my career a really big priority when I was younger, and I don’t regret the work I did, but I really regret the time that I missed.”

She continued, “So maybe I don’t do four films a year now. Maybe I can take a step back. I still want to work, but it’s got to make sense. For the next four or five years, the choices I make are going to have a lot to do with how it fits into life, you know? And it’s gonna have to be OK.”

Those of you that want to see Amy Adams on the big-screen don’t have to wait too long, because the actress is reprising her role as Lois Lane from Man Of Steel in Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, which will finally hit cinemas on March 25.
