Robert Pattinson Lands Role in The Rover

It’s not all doom and gloom for Twilight hunk Robert Pattinson. The actor, who is said to be heartbroken over girlfriend Kristen Stewart’s infidelity, is said to have just landed a great role for his professional career in The Rover.

Pattinson, who’s known for making smart choices outside of the Twilight franchise with selecting independent film roles, is said to have just landed The Rover. Pattinson’s new film, which is sure to alleviate at least some of his pain from Stewart’s cheating, was greenlit by Screen Australia, the studio that will be heading up the project.

Said to be directed by acclaimed filmmaker David Michod of Animal Kingdom fame, The Rover is described as a futuristic ahead of its time Western, about a tough drifter who follows and tracks down a gang that have stolen some of his personal items. While Pattinson’s role in the film was previously reported in May, this is an official announcement that we haven’t had until today.

The announcement of Robert Pattinson’s involvement in The Rover couldn’t have come at a better time. The announcement puts a spotlight back onto Pattinson’s work instead of his personal life, which according to most tabloids seems to be in absolute shambles since it was uncovered that girlfriend Kristen Stewart was cheating on him with director Rupert Sanders.

In addition to the firestorm surrounding Robert Pattinson’s relationship with Kristen Stewart, his girlfriend, or ex girlfriend depending on how you look at things, has also landed quite the juicy role for her career. Recently it was announced that Stewart was hired to play Magic Mike’s Alex Pettyfer’s girlfriend in the film Cali, which sees Stewart as a producer on the thriller as well.

Do you think the estranged romance with Kristen Stewart will affect Robert Pattinson’s career?
