Alyssa Milano Says A ‘Charmed’ Reboot Could Happen, But Would Shannen Doherty Return?

Alyssa Milano recently told Entertainment Tonight that she thinks a Charmed reboot is inevitable and she hopes to return as part of the cast.

Milano noted the multitude of shows that are getting a second life these days, from Full House to Gilmore Girls, and Alyssa thinks Charmed has enough of a fan base to warrant either a series reboot or a Charmed movie.

“I just feel like with all these reunions, and we still have such a cult following, that I feel like someone’s going to put that together at some point,” Alyssa said. But the question that most fans of Charmed may be dying to know the answer to is if Shannen Doherty will be interested in returning as Milano’s TV sister.

Shannen Doherty left the show after only three seasons amid rumors that she and Alyssa Milano were at constant odds. Though Doherty, and fellow cast mate Holly Marie Combs, appear to have a BFF bond in real life, Milano reportedly keeps a safe distance. As previously reported by Inquisitr, however, Alyssa seemed to put their differences aside when Shannen announced last year she was battling breast cancer. Whether or not Milano was reaching out as a friend or as someone who values the female bosom is another question.

Milano has frequently made headlines recently for her views on public breast feeding. Alyssa often shares pictures on social media of her breast feeding her children and has been known to get in debates with others over the notion that it is okay for famous females to share pictures of their breasts in a sexual manner, but Milano is criticized for sharing her breastfeeding pics. Most recently Milano took on talk show host Wendy Williams, according to ABC News.

Whether or not Milano and Doherty are friendly, or Alyssa was simply having a moment of empathy for Shannen’s cancer fight, Milano did mention during the Entertainment Tonight interview that when it came to the possibility of a Charmed reunion, “We’re all totally on board for that!” So who did Alyssa Milano mean by “we”?

According to a tweet by Milano today, there is talk of a reboot with the “original” cast. Considering Doherty is one of the original Charmed sisters, one could deduce that she is included in those talks, along with Milano and Combs.

But before Milano, Doherty, or Charmed fans get too excited, Alyssa also went on to clarify that nothing has been set in stone.

As for Shannen Doherty’s thoughts on it, she has been mum on the topic. Just as Milano has been battling public scrutiny of openly breastfeeding, Doherty has been dealing with the backlash of suing her former manager for failing to make her health insurance payments, which she says delayed her cancer diagnosis.

According to People, in a recent interview on the Dr. Oz Show, Doherty emotionally discussed the fight for her life, but the same interview also had Shannen sharing the fact that she has had a difficult time getting acting roles since her diagnosis.

“I think that people think that I’m ‘sick,’ and therefore I’m unable to perform,” Doherty told Dr. Oz. But one thing seems certain. If Shannen is physically capable and healthy, and she and Alyssa Milano can put their differences aside, Charmed fans will be feeling mighty lucky if CBS secures them both to return.
