‘Dancing With The Stars’ Season 22 Cast: Geraldo Rivera Set To Compete

Dancing with the Stars has added Geraldo Rivera to their cast for Season 22. Page Six reports that the talk show host and reporter will also have to perform a dance between jobs this year. Not only will he dance for the coveted Mirrorball trophy on Dancing with the Stars, which films in Los Angeles, he will also report on the 2016 presidential race for Fox News, which is based in New York.

Confirmed Dancing with the Stars Season 6 contestants now include five women (Jodie Sweetin, Ginger Zee, Kim Fields, Marla Maples, and Mischa Barton) and three men (Geraldo Rivera, Von Miller, Nyle DiMarco). Filming for DWTS may begin as early as next week. Rivera has been a reporter for years, but that won’t matter on Dancing with the Stars. Can he dance? A source for Page Six says he “actually has rhythm, he’s quite a dancer.”

Dancing with the Stars won’t be Geraldo’s first reality TV show. He also appeared on Donald Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice. He came in second place in Season 14 of the show, defeated by Leeza Gibbons.

There are some changes to the cast of judges and dancers for Dancing with the Stars this year. Julianne Hough has been seen on previous seasons as both a dancer and a judge, but we won’t see her this year. She served as a judge last year, but her spot is being filled by the return of veteran Dancing with the Stars judge Len Goodman. Julianne’s brother Derek Hough, who has won the last six seasons of DWTS, won’t be participating in this year’s competition. Instead of appearing on Dancing with the Stars, 30-year-old Hough will appear in the lead role of a Broadway production of Singing in the Rain.

There are rumors circulating about other celebrities who may be part of the Dancing with the Stars Season 22 competition. Among them are The Bachelor’s Ben Higgins. When asked about the rumor by E! Online, Higgins made the following statement.

“I’m not against any opportunity that presents itself… I need to analyze if that option was there to say, OK, is this the best thing for me?… I don’t know yet, I don’t. I don’t want to say this is the way I’m going to go with it because I haven’t decided.”

Buddy TV also reports that Antonio Brown, wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers, may compete in this season of Dancing with the Stars. Brown recently began following DWTS and Dancing with the Stars dance pro Sharna Burgess on Twitter. Brown is known for his energetic dances in the end zone, but could he cut it on Dancing with the Stars? Possibly! He did nail a pretty impressive front flip in the end zone recently and has the charisma and agility. Football players have been popular in past seasons of Dancing with the Stars, with 13 of them competing in previous seasons. Three of them have won: Emmitt Smith in Season 3, Hines Ward in Season 12, and Donald Driver in Season 14.
