Who Is Kim Fields Of ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Season 22?

Season 22 of Dancing With the Stars has a celebrity cast jam-packed with talent and Kim Fields is one of the contestants set to hit the dance floor this spring. Fields has been in the entertainment genre for decades now and many DWTS fans are quite anxious to see her tackle this ABC reality television show this spring. What do viewers need to know about Kim?

Kim Fields is 46-years-old now, but she first embraced being on television at the age of 5, notes Biography. The Harlem, New York native first appeared on Sesame Street. Then, when she was 9-years-old, she scored the role of Tootie Ramsey on Diff’rent Strokes, a show that starred Todd Bridges, Gary Coleman, Dana Plato and Conrad Bain. Fields was in just five episodes of that show, but she continued on in the role of Tootie when she headed to the Diff’rent Strokes spin-off show The Facts of Life in 1979.

The Facts of Life, which also starred Charlotte Rae, Lisa Whelchel, Mindy Cohn and Nancy McKeon, ran for nine seasons and just over 200 episodes. Fields went on to star in the show Living Single from 1993 to 1998, playing the character of Regine Hunter, and she has done a number of other shows along the way. While many know this Dancing With the Stars cast member from her days in front of the camera, she also attended school and has tackled projects featuring her behind the cameras as well.

This Dancing With the Stars contestant attended Burbank High School and graduated from Pepperdine University with a degree in communications in 1993. She was married to Johnathon Freeman from 1995 to 2001 and married current husband Christopher Morgan in 2007. Kim and Christopher have two boys together, Sebastian and Quincy, who were born in 2007 and 2013. In addition, she has shared that she went through two miscarriages between the births of her sons, notes IMDb.

Kim, Christopher and their sons currently live in Atlanta, Georgia, and they signed up to do Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Atlanta last fall for Season 8. In addition to her acting, Fields has done some music over the years and has tackled directing projects as well. Dancing With the Stars may be quite the new adventure for her compared to most of her past projects, but her fans are anxious to see her tackle this new challenge.

It looks like Fields will be dancing with pro Sasha Farber this spring on Dancing With the Stars. Farber has a lot of dedicated DWTS fans who are definitely buzzing about the fact that he is seemingly back and paired with a celebrity this season. Sasha has been in the mix of the show for some time, but was only a full-fledged pro during Season 17 with Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi. Sasha is a pretty short pro, limiting his ability to be utilized during many seasons, but Kim is quite petite so this seems like the perfect opportunity to get Farber back onto the slate of pros.

How will Kim and Sasha fare this spring when this is a season so jam-packed with buzzworthy celebrities? Other Season 22 Dancing With the Stars contestants include Von Miller, Jodie Sweetin, Ginger Zee and Doug Flutie, for example, so there will be no clear and easy path to snag the mirror-ball trophy. However, many DWTS fans are excited to see Fields and Farber give it a shot this spring and think this duo could be a fun combination.
