Jennifer Lopez: ‘I Just Get Better And Better’

Singer, dancer, actor, and American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez has no problem admitting that she’s doing pretty great in life at the moment and has shared her attitude toward her success recently. The 45-year-old shares that she no longer worries about her place in the entertainment industry after recently re-signing with her original record label, Epic Records.

The return to Epic means that Lopez will be able to collaborate with mentor and friend L.A. Reid as well as produce music based on her more recent experiences, personal- and career-wise, over the years she’s been absent from the label.

The mother of two shares her feeling of belonging now in the industry, yet indicates how she originally felt when entering the entertainment industry, having mostly a feeling of finality in regard to her career path, as Music News shares.

“When you first start in this business, you think, ‘This is going to run out’ or ‘It’s going to finish at a certain time’ or ‘If I reach a certain age I won’t be relevant.’ I just get better and better with more experience and more life. I have more to give to what I do and that’s what I look forward to when creating this record.”

While paying a visit to the Wendy Williams Show this week, Jennifer was open about everything from career, including her Vegas residency, to love, most specifically noting her relationship with dancer Casper Smart.

“The residency was a dream. When I think of Vegas, I think of Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley and iconic performers. Before I even signed my deal to go to Vegas, when they were offering it to me, I went and saw a bunch of shows. I saw everybody. I saw Britney Spears, I saw Shania Twain.”

The triple threat diva also shared about how she continues to create music drawn from and inspired by her own life and experiences and meld the perfect lyrics with the sound that is most suitable for her in the now.

“I’ve had so much success over the years but this is going to be a great starting point again. It’s all about finding the right sound for me and the right songs and the right lyrics for me right now.”

Lopez is hopeful that her upcoming album, which she is continually working on, will drop soon enough, as People notes.

“Hopefully we’ll have new music very soon.”

It seems as though all is just right in the life of Lopez. A successful Vegas residency, a fantastic final season as a judge on American Idol, a new album about to drop, and two adorable kids just about make for perfection in the entertainer’s life. Now what about love?

The singer has been seen frequently over the past year with her dancer ex Casper Smart yet hasn’t fessed up to being back together with her on-and-off-again boyfriend. Wendy Williams got to the bottom of the relationship mystery.

“Last time you were here, you said you were totally single,” Williams stated.

“I was! We broke up for a little bit… yeah, we’ve done that a couple of times,” Jen replied, then sharing that she and Smart are officially back on. “Yeah, everything is good.”

Williams also got deep asking about JLo’s take on Mariah Carey once claiming not to know Jennifer. Jen answered candidly and simply stated the diva must just be forgetful.

“She does say that … she’s forgetful I guess. We’ve met many times. I don’t know her that well.”
