Scott Disick Beyond Hope? Kourtney Kardashian Bracing For The Worst!
Reality star Scott Disick has broken his silence about his drinking problem. And fans won’t like what he had to say.
Scott Disick’s long term struggle with alcohol addiction has caused sometimes embarrassing headlines over the years, and reportedly cost him his 10-year relationship with Kourtney Kardashian. After Lamar Odom’s near-fatal cocaine overdose in October, 2015, fans feared the worst might happen to Scott Disick. Then news broke that Disick checked himself into rehab, reportedly in an effort to stay in his children’s lives. Fans hoped that Scott Disick’s children might finally put him on a healthy path.
Now, Scott Disick wants his fans to know that he’s fine, but he also wants them to have realistic expectations.
According to People,Disick doesn’t see his drinking as a problem. The 32-year-old reality star insists that the media is making his drinking out to be more of a problem than it is.
“The truth is I just to live my life and I want to have a little happiness and a little balance. I’m not out here trying to get wasted, but you know what, I will have a beer on the beach. I’m not doing drugs, I’m not doing anything insane, so I think people just need to relax … I just want to try to live my life.”
Disick went on to insist that he has a handle on his drinking because it was never his biggest problem. According to the self-styled Lord, an addiction to sleeping medication forced him into rehab. But he kicked his sleeping pill addiction last year. Now, Disick describes his drinking as just “a couple of drinks with (his) friends… just like anyone else.”
Except Scott Disick isn’t like anyone else, at least not where his history of alcohol abuse is concerned. According to TMZ, Scott Disick was hospitalized after binge drinking at a Hamptons nightclub in June, 2014. Sources told TMZ that Disick was so drunk that he believed he’d been drugged. Concerned friends took him to the Emergency Room at Southampton Hospital. Doctors at Southampton Hospital diagnosed Disick with a case of alcohol poisoning.
In 2014, Disick realized that he had a problem with alcohol and sought counseling. But a clear cycle developed. Scott Disick would admit he had an alcohol problem, seek treatment, then return to his hard-partying ways.
Now the cycle seems to have started again. Sources admitted to People that Disick drank alcohol on a recent trip to Punta Mita Mexico, but swear that he kept it under control. Unfortunately, that’s part of Scott Disick’s pattern of addiction, too.
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Scott Disick botched an appearance in June, 2015, just one year after his hospitalization. Disick was scheduled to attend a charity meet-and-greet at the Time Supper Club in Montreal. He arrived several hours late and never met with any fans. The enraged charity organizers issued full refunds, but Disick kept his reported five-figure appearance fee.
At the time of the botched Time Supper Club appearance, Scott Disick was three months post-rehab.
Disick’s alcohol consumption is clearly a problem, but he doesn’t realize it. Can anyone save Scott Disick before it’s too late?
It doesn’t look good. According to Hollywood Life, Disick’s alcohol problems led long-time girlfriend Kourtney Kardashian to end their relationship. Now, Kourtney is heartbroken that Disick can’t get his act together for the sake of their children. Sources told Hollywood Life that Kourtney Kardashian has given up hope that Scott Disick would be the kind of partner she wants. But she’s also losing hope that he’ll be the responsible father their children deserve.
“Her biggest concern is her kids, she’s tried and tried and tried to make sure he’s a part of their lives. However, if he behaves like a 22-year-old, rather than a father of three 32-year-old, she questions whether he’s responsible enough.”
With his friends enabling his addiction, it’s unlikely that Scott Disick will grow up anytime soon.
