Kelly Clarkson Reveals Embarrassment Over Crying On ‘American Idol’
Last week on American Idol, Kelly Clarkson performed her new song, “Piece by Piece,” and it was a very emotional performance for her. Kelly broke down in tears while performing on the Idol stage. This song is emotional itself, but Kelly was also sad about knowing that she was on the American Idol stage for the last time. Now, Hollywood Life is sharing that Kelly Clarkson will be on The Ellen DeGeneres Show today, and will talk all about the tears and being embarrassed about breaking down on stage.

Everyone can’t stop talking about Kelly Clarkson’s performance and how amazing it was last week. Kelly shared with Ellen that she was a bit surprised by the tears.
“Yes. I came off almost in tears for a different reason because I was so embarrassed. I was like, ‘Oh God, this is my final thing on Idol and I could not hold it together.’ I was almost losing it almost the entire song.”
Kelly Clarkson’s husband, Brandon, was backstage with their daughter, River. Her little girl was getting to enjoy the American Idol halls while mom performed. Kelly revealed that he had kind words for her when she came off the stage after crying.
“I was proud of myself for making it as far as I did. My husband knows me well. I came off stage and he was like don’t ruin it. Don’t ruin the moment. Because I was like it was so embarrassing. I cried the whole time. I didn’t realize it was gonna be that bad. And we were rehearsing that day and I just couldn’t get through it. My one year old is running around the same hallway as I was at 19.”
Kelly Clarkson goes on to share that her sister and her both ended up with amazing men after growing with a dad that wasn’t around. Kelly likes the fact that they didn’t end up with men like their father and have been able to find such amazing fathers for their children. Brandon Blackstock is not like the father that Kelly grew up with at all, and is always there for their little girl. The two have another child on the way now.

EW shared that Jennifer Lopez had to say about Kelly Clarkson’s very emotional performance on the show. Jennifer shared that she was really into Kelly’s performance and enjoyed watching it. She had no idea that Keith Urban was next to her crying and breaking down over the song. Jennifer never even looked over and saw Keith in tears.
Kelly Clarkson’s new song, “Piece by Piece,” is about a little girl who had her dad leave at a young age. This song does have to do with Kelly’s real life, and the fact that her dad left at a very young age. Kelly explained that her husband Brandon Blackstock isn’t like that at all and is a very present father in their daughter’s life.
This is the final season for American Idol and Kelly Clarkson is very pregnant with her second child. This is probably the last time that Kelly will ever perform on the American Idol stage considering that she won’t be able to fly for very much longer. Kelly was the first winner of this show and it has forever changed her life. Clarkson understands where she comes from and is obviously grateful for what they did for her career.
