Alisan Porter Shares Details Of What She Has Done Since ‘Curly Sue’

Alisan Porter is a name that everyone is going to remember after watching The Voice this season. If you have ever seen the movie Curly Sue, then you know Alisan as the adorable little girl from this movie. Now instead of acting, Alisan Porter is working on her music career and trying to launch it by using reality television. E! Online was able to catch up with Alisan Porter and get the details on what she has been up to since her time on Curly Sue.

Porter sang the song “Blue Bayou” and was able to get all four coaches to turn around wanting her on their team. Being on this show is a dream come true for Alisan Porter and she shared the details of how she has felt watching it from home saying that she has cried every time she watched a blind audition, but she knew she couldn’t cry while she was during her own audition.

Alisan Porter may have been an actress in her younger years, but she does consider herself a singer instead and that is what she has been focused on over the past few years. Alisan has done a bit of acting and singing and shared the details.

“I was on Broadway twice. I did Footloose and A Chorus Line. And I had bands and I put out solo records, and I was kind of just scrambling to find out where I wanted to fit in the business.”

People shared that they also got the chance to talk to Alisan Porter and she shared some details about hard times she has dealt with over the years. Back in 2014, Alisan Porter revealed to her fans that she had battled with alcoholism in the past and had been sober for 7 years at that point in her life. Porter is now married to Brian Autenrieth and has two children Mason and Aria.

Alisan Porter has released music before, but it has been a year and a half since she put out her last album. Alisan shared that it was hard to put herself out there, but she is doing it anyway.

“I was nervous about putting myself back into something so public and going back into a career, especially since I have kids now and I’ve been a stay-at-home mom for three and a half years. I’ve just really enjoyed the process and it’s fueled the fire again within me.”

Alisan Parter also shared the details of what made her pick the song Blue Bayou to sign for her blind audition. This isn’t a popular song right now, but it was actually the perfect choice for her.

“I really wanted to sing a classic. I love songs from that era, I love kind of blending folk and rock and country, so I felt like I wanted to sing a classic with all those elements and that was really something I thought would work and I love that song.”

This season just started this week, but it is already heating up to be a good one. Alisan Porter stands a great chance, but she still has a long way to go to be the last one standing and the winner of this season. With Christina on her side, it does look like Alisan will be working hard on her music career and you never know what will happen next for this Curly Sue star.

Now Alisan Porter is on The Voice instead of playing Curly Sue. She will be on Team Christina and stands a good chance of winning the show. Don’t miss new episodes on NBC.
