Ben Higgins Is Engaged, But Will This ‘Bachelor’ Engagement Last? Reality Steve Weighs In As Finale Approaches

The final rose ceremony for ABC’s The Bachelor 2016 season is right around the corner and Ben Higgins has confirmed that he left the show engaged. He is saying that he is happy with his pick and it sounds as if the two are looking toward a future together, but will this romance really last? Fans will see the couple together soon during the “After the Final Rose” special, but Reality Steve’s spoilers are already making predictions about where he sees this relationship is headed.

As fans know, Reality Steve rarely believes that any couples from the Bachelor or Bachelorette franchise will last for long. While the female leads do have a stronger track record than the guys when it comes to lasting relationships, there are far fewer success stories than failed matches. Does the gossip guru think that Ben Higgins and his pick might be an exception to the rule?

Unfortunately, at this point, Steve Carbone’s Bachelor spoilers are not indicating all that much confidence in Ben’s engagement. In his latest blog, Carbone joked that he sees this relationship lasting for about eight minutes once the season ends. Of course, this relationship will be lasting a tad longer than that, as Higgins has said in media interviews that he and his lady are together, engaged, and doing better than ever. However, that doesn’t mean that anybody should buy a wedding gift yet.

Higgins revealed the official news regarding the engagement for the first time Tuesday morning via Good Morning America. Reality Steve’s Bachelor spoilers had teased this outcome shortly after filming wrapped last November, but the star and the network stayed mum on the rumors until now. Not only are Higgins and his final rose recipient engaged, Ben says they are doing better than ever at this point.

While there will be plenty of rumors swirling over these next couple of weeks leading into the last episode, especially given Ben’s declarations of love for both Lauren Bushnell and JoJo Fletcher, Carbone’s Bachelor spoilers have consistently detailed that Higgins and his lady remain engaged and together at this point. What is it that drives the spoiler guru to insist that they won’t last?

The primary reason for Reality Steve’s skepticism, it seems, is the track record of marriages coming from the Bachelor show. While Carbone may ultimately have some insider scoop pointing toward long-time issues for Higgins and his lady, for the most part, it seems that the history of splits is the primary reason for doubting the longevity ahead for Ben and his gal.

So far, Sean Lowe is the only guy who has married his pick from the Bachelor franchise, and he is even expecting his first baby with wife Catherine Giudici Lowe. Jason Mesnick is often included in the round-up of lasting relationships, though as fans know, he actually picked Melissa Rycroft Strickland at his last rose ceremony and shocked viewers when he split with her and reunited with Molly Malaney. Jason and Molly went on to get married and remain happily together.

On the Bachelorette side, Ryan Sutter and Trista Rehn Sutter became the first couple to marry from the franchise. JP Rosenbaum and Ashley Hebert Rosenbaum made their relationship work, as did Chris Siegfried and Desiree Hartsock Siegfried. Kaitlyn Bristowe is still with Shawn Booth, and there have been some Bachelor Pad and Bachelor in Paradise success stories as well.

Will Ben Higgins and his gal beat the odds and end up walking down the aisle, or will Reality Steve’s prediction of a short engagement pan out to be accurate? The final rose ceremony and “After the Final Rose” special are set to air on Monday, March 14, and Bachelor fans cannot wait to see just how this one plays out.
