Kanye West’s Stepfather Speaks Out With Rare, Bombshell Details About His Entitled Childhood
Kanye West’s stepfather, Willie Scott, is speaking out with rare details about his entitled childhood and it may explain a lot about his actions now. To adoring fans, Kanye West has always been a creative genius; maybe a bit unorthodox but, nevertheless, a musical mastermind. However, behind the bars and beats, Kanye West has always had a dark cloud over his life that began during his childhood, according to his stepfather, Willie Scott.
According to the Daily Mail, Scott spoke publicly for the first time in an exclusive interview where he revealed rare details about Kanye West’s childhood and his behavior prior to his big break in the music industry. Apparently, Kanye is reportedly the reason their relationship fell apart. Despite the media and fans crediting Kanye West’s alleged downward spiral to the death of his mother, Donda West, and his marriage to Kim Kardashian, his stepfather has revealed some of his habits aren’t anything new, because he’s been this way since he was a child.
Kanye’s stepfather has admitted that he has always had a sense of entitlement and his behavior often caused problems that spilled over into his mother’s romantic relationships. He also admitted that Kanye was never disrespectful, but quite territorial when it came to his mother having other males in her life. Although they sought counseling in an effort to combat his behavior, Donda West refused to implement different strategies to deal with Kanye’s disciplinary issues.

“Kanye didn’t want me with his mother or any man for that matter,” Scott said. “He was wrapped up into his mother. We went to a counselor to see if we could get him on the right path. But Donda wasn’t interested. She wanted ME on the right path. And that is what the dilemma was.”
Since Kanye West reportedly did not face many consequences for being uncooperative with his stepfather, their relationship was relatively distant because Scott was often left to be the disciplinarian, which didn’t always sit well with Kanye. His stepfather recalled one time in particular where he made his boundaries clear, citing what he would and would not do when asked.
Instead of cleaning his room or doing chores when asked, he spent most of his time in his room working on music. In fact, Kanye West’s defiance became so unbearable at one point, his stepfather told him his friends were banned from the house until he learned how to follow orders, but to no avail. Although Kanye’s flaws were apparent, his stepfather claims his mother often made excuses for his actions.
“He [Kayne] was about 14. He was a beautiful kid, but he was aggressive and he was self assured. He told me in front of his mother that he didn’t want to have to do anything he didn’t have to. So that left the discipline on me basically. And he wasn’t cooperative. He had to take the responsibility for living here and he wasn’t really willing to do that. She would make excuses for him. She would describe her son as a ‘genius.'”
Even when Kanye West was just a teenager, his mother allowed him to pursue his dreams and his stepfather claims she knew he’d be successful which is why his behavior was often overlooked. “We talked about the fact that she didn’t discipline him. We went to a counselor to try and get things smoothed out. But her mind was on him being a millionaire,” his stepfather said.
After four years of turbulence, Kanye West’s stepfather reportedly decided to separate from Donda West. Due to Kanye’s disciplinary problems, he could no longer deal with the domestic problems they faced. “Eventually I asked that he and Donda to move out. He had to take the responsibility for living here and he wasn’t really willing to do that.”
Willie Scott has commended Kanye West for his achievements and he wishes him well.
