DeAnna Pappas Stagliano Gives Birth To Second Child: ‘Bachelorette’ Star Welcomes Baby Boy

DeAnna Pappas Stagliano is a new mommy — again. The former Bachelorette star gave birth to her second child, a son, on March 1. DeAnna Pappas is married to Stephen Stagliano, the twin brother of former Bachelorette contestant Michael Stagliano. The former reality star posted her exciting news on Twitter, less than 24 hours after she pondered online if March would bring her and Stephen a baby boy.

In a statement to People, a rep for DeAnna Pappas and Stephen Stagliano said mom and baby are doing great. The Stagliano’s son arrived at 8:15 p.m. and joins big sister Addison Marie, who is 2-years-old.

“DeAnna is doing great and cuddling with her new little boy.”

DeAnna Pappas Stagliano has long told fans that she wanted to expand her family. After partnering with Clearblue last year, the reality star-turned-real estate agent first revealed her pregnancy news late last summer. She also dished that once she found out she was having a boy, it was hard to come up with a name, because she and Stephen couldn’t seem to agree on a single name.

While DeAnna’s due date was originally February 26, it sounds like baby boy Stagliano wasn’t quite ready to come out. When her due date came and went, Pappas Stagliano revealed she was trying to help labor come along by indulging in plenty of pineapple and pizza.

Still, she may have needed that extra time to get ready for her bundle of joy. In late January, DeAnna Pappas Stagliano told E! News that she was way behind on getting ready for her second child. In the same interview, DeAnna also said that she “hoped” to have a crib in time, but that she and Stephen did at least have the nursery painted.

“It must be like that second child syndrome. The first baby gets everything. It gets a name right away, the nursery is done, you’ve got everything monogrammed and then the second baby is like ‘oh yeah, they’re coming.'”

One thing DeAnna didn’t need ahead of her son’s birth was a traditional baby shower. DeAnna told People she opted to have a small tea party instead to make it more of a little girls’ celebration for her 2-year-old daughter. Pappas Stagliano said the little girls in the group loved the tea.

“I didn’t need a baby shower. I wanted to do a big sister celebration, kind of a way to help Addison welcome baby number two.”

As for how she thinks her toddler will adapt to being a big sister, DeAnna said she is hoping for the best, and that Addison will even give her new brother a present to help pave the way.

“We got a gift from Addison to give to the baby and a gift from him to give to Addison. I’m hoping that she will transition well and will be able to come to the hospital and meet the baby.”

DeAnna Pappas is best known for her two seasons on the Bachelor franchise. The mom of two first had her heart broken by Brad Womack on The Bachelor in 2007. (Womack famously let both of his final two women go on that season of the reality dating show.) The following spring, DeAnna starred on The Bachelorette. She ultimately gave her heart — and her final rose — to snowboarder Jesse Csincsak, but the couple ended their engagement several months later. DeAnna Pappas met Stephen Stagliano at a Bachelor-related function, and the rest is reality TV history.

While her baby boy just entered the world, DeAnna Pappas Stagliano has not ruled out having more babies. In an interview with Parade last year, Pappas Stagliano said she and her husband definitely want more kids — and they could rival The Brady Bunch when it comes to mouths to feed.

“Yeah we definitely want more children! We go back and forth on whether we want three or seven [laughs]. We’ll see, Steven says practice makes perfect. I definitely want more kids.”
