Miss Colombia Scores First Acting Role In Vin Diesel’s ‘XXX’ Franchise

Miss Colombia, the 22-year-old who was falsely crowned by Steve Harvey, as Miss Universe, is bouncing back from the mortifying experience with a movie career.

Ariadna Gutierrez, better known as Miss Colombia, just scored her first acting project, opposite mega action star Vin Diesel. Gutierrez has signed on for Vin Diesel’s xXx franchise, specifically xXx: The Return of Xander Cage, which will hit theaters in 2017. This is the much anticipated third installment in the xXx series.

As of right now, Ariadna hasn’t shot her scenes opposite Diesel just yet, but today she flies out to the Dominican Republic to start shooting the xXx movie. In addition to filming in DR, production was also underway in Toronto, as well.

According to TMZ, Miss Columbia will play Diesel’s love interest in the film, which is a huge part for the first time actress. According to the report, she’s set for six scenes, with three pages of dialogue. It might not sound like a lot, but considering this is a Vin Diesel action movie, that’s plenty for someone who will essentially probably be propped up like a Bond girl.

As for the plot of the latest installment, the following is according to Collider.

“Extreme athlete turned government operative Xander Cage (Vin Diesel) coming out of self-imposed exile and on a collision course with deadly alpha warrior Xiang and his team in a race to recover a sinister and seemingly unstoppable weapon known as Pandora’s Box. Recruiting an all-new group of thrill-seeking cohorts, Xander finds himself enmeshed in a deadly conspiracy that points to collusion at the highest levels of world governments.”

It’s not surprising that Gutierrez would turn to a lucrative career in the movie business. After all, the Miss Universe runner up was offered $1 million to star in a racy sex tape.

Although she was mortified by Steve Harvey’s blunder, which saw her decrowned from the Miss Universe title, Gutierrez took the opportunity and started to brand herself by appearing as herself in a Super Bowl ad for T-Mobile.

Back in December, fresh off of the Miss Universe debacle, Miss Colombia posted an Instagram message for her fans that have come forward to support her:

“After the storm comes the calm. I want to thank each and everyone of you who have sent messages of support and strength. Every one of you has become an incredible human being in my book and I am the most fortunate and thankful for having the support not only from one country but from the whole entire world.

“Your destiny is written for you. And my destiny was this. I was able to bring happiness to my country after becoming Miss Universe for only a couple of minutes… Today because of that COLOMBIA and the LATIN COMMUNITY are being talked about in every corner of the world. I also want to congratulate the Philippines for their new Miss Universe.”

Steve Harvey immediately apologized after his historical blunder. At the time, he wrote the following.

“I’d like to apologize wholeheartedly to Miss Colombia & Miss Philippines for my huge mistake. I feel terrible.”

Many predicted that he would never be asked to return to host the pageant, but as it turns out, the ratings are in mind, because Harvey is hosting next year’s ceremony.

As for Diesel, aside from the xXx franchise, he also has the Fast & Furious films to focus on. Recently, Universal announced two more Fast films that are set for 2019 and 2021 theatrical dates.
