Blake Shelton To Sing About Gwen Stefani & Miranda Lambert On New Album

Blake Shelton is revealing that fans can expect to hear songs about his new romance with Gwen Stefani and his divorce from Miranda Lambert on his upcoming new album.

Shelton made the admission in a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, where Blake confessed that his respective past and present relationships with both Miranda and Gwen will be immortalized in song on his new release.

“I mean, it doesn’t take, you know, a rocket scientist,” Shelton told Entertainment Tonight when quizzed about the topics he’ll be singing about on his new album. “If you have followed my career even a little bit in my life, you know what has happened with me in the last, gosh, eight or nine months,” Blake said — hinting at his July divorce from Miranda Lambert and November romance with Stefani.

Blake then candidly revealed to the site that his as-yet-untitled release will feature a number of songs about his love life, both good and bad, and even referred to Gwen as his “girlfriend.”

“I can put my life experience, whether it’s a divorce or my new girlfriend, whatever those experiences are, whatever things that are happening in my life, I have an outlet for them,” Blake Shelton told the site of his Miranda and Gwen songs, adding, “I have music. I can write songs, I can sing about it.”

The news that Blake Shelton has been busy penning songs about Gwen Stefani comes just weeks after Stefani confirmed during a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that her new single, “Make Me Like You,” is about actually about her romance with Blake.

“You had a neon sign that said ‘Blakes,’ ” Kimmel teased Gwen on February 16 of her 2016 Grammys performance of the song, joking, “Now was that for Blake Lively? Or Blake Griffin? … or perhaps, I don’t know, maybe another?”

“Yeah, I don’t know, that was just a coincidence,” Stefani joked on the late night talk show of the sign – which was a homage to Blake Shelton. “I don’t know why they put that [there], that was weird.”

But while Stefani began her recent Jimmy Kimmel Live! appearance by playing coy about her new found romance with Shelton, Gwen did open up about her man and revealed that her new song is actually about their blossoming relationship.

“The song is about Blake Shelton?” Jimmy asked Gwen Stefani on the late night talk show, to which Gwen replied, “It is, actually … I will admit that that song is about that guy, yeah.”

Blake also appeared to confirm that he was the man behind the song on Twitter, posting a screenshot of the song on Twitter on February 12 and encouraging fans to download “Make Me Like You.”

“You can probably understand the multiple reasons why I just bought this…,” Shelton wrote alongside the screenshot, where he tagged Gwen Stefani, “I hope you do to!!!”

Though Shelton neither confirmed nor denied if his next single will in fact be the song he penned about Gwen – or if he’ll be releasing a song about Miranda – Blake did tell Entertainment Tonight earlier this week that it won’t be too long until we find out which track he’ll be releasing.

“When it comes out, you are going to be like, ‘I can’t believe he didn’t tell me it was going to be that soon!,’ ” Blake joked of his new single.
