‘Dancing With The Stars’ News: Jodie Sweetin Confirmed Her Sweet New Gig, Who Will Her Pro Partner Be?

It is now official! The rumors that have been swirling that Fuller House star, Jodie Sweetin, is joining Season 22 of Dancing with the Stars is completely true. She has confirmed that she will be showing her stuff out on the ballroom floor later this month.

Sweetin stopped by Good Morning America on Wednesday as part of their first official announcement on who will be joining the cast of celebrities. She was the first one to be revealed so far, as reported by GMA Yahoo. She sat down to dish on her upcoming dancing gig, and she is quite excited about it. She also revealed that she has been teamed up with pro dancer Keo Mostepe for this new season.

The 34-year-old actress said that they have been practicing for just a couple of days now, and she is hoping to help Keo go as far as they can on Dancing with the Stars.

“It’s so fun. We got through some basic moves and several different styles of dance and just had a lot of fun with it. He and I get along really well. He is so excited. You know maybe he will have a chance to make it past week three or four.”

It sounds like she may just do that. Sweetin dished that she loves to dance, and reminded everyone that her Full House character, Stephanie Tanner, also was a dancer, so she grew up with knowing a few moves. In fact, there is a video to prove that she was quite a little dancer. She had on a blue gown in just her size and danced along with her fellow co-stars, including John Stamos and the rest of the gang. She joked that it was her “Ethel Merman” style, even if she didn’t know who that was at the time. That was not the only chance that her character got to dance on the show. She really had the moves back then.

There is also a recent episode of Fuller House that shows her getting her groove on with none other than Dancing with the Stars pro Val Chmerkovskiy. He and his brother, Maks Chmerkovskiy, guest starred with Jodie Sweetin and Candace Cameron-Bure on the show, as noted by E! News. She was actually pretty good, so Jodie may just have a slight advantage going into the dancing completion.

Bure has some stories to share with her good friend and co-star as she was paired with pro dancer Mark Ballas on Season 18 of Dancing with the Stars. They made it to the finale, so she has been giving Jodie some advice on what to expect from her upcoming experience. Candace told her that it will be exciting, overwhelming, physically and mentally demanding, and will be one of the hardest things that she will ever do.

Sweetin said that she wasn’t able to do this show before because of schedule conflicts, but she is thrilled to be able to take part in it this season. She is newly engaged and she said that her fiancé has been really supportive.

Jodie also has two daughters, ages eight and five, but since they had trouble keeping secrets, their mom decided to just briefly tell them that she will be on some sort of dancing show. Now that the cat is out of the bag, they can go tell all of their friends and also get to see pictures of her in rehearsals. They are also expected to be watching her firsthand in the studio.

“They’ll come to rehearsals and tapings and be very excited. I think they’ll mostly just like the costumes really.”

It has been quite the year for Jodie Sweetin. With Fuller House now available on Netflix and Season 2 on the horizon, she has been in in the spotlight, and she is not done with that yet. Her life may not be the same after Dancing with the Stars is done with her.
