Rumored ‘Star Wars 8’ Title Released

We’re still over 22 months away from the release of Star Wars 8. But with the production now underway, we can expect little titbits regarding the blockbuster to be released in the next few weeks.

One of the most anticipated bits of information regarding Star Wars 8 is the film’s title. Lucasfilm and Disney have yet to reveal or even tease the potential Star Wars 8 title.

But now a leaked promotional item for Star Wars 8 has allegedly revealed the title for the upcoming instalment to the franchise. It originally appeared on a Star Wars Reddit thread, having previously popped up on Facebook.

Obviously, this news must be taken with a huge does of salt. First of all, it’s just a promotional card, which easily looks like it could have been created using photoshop.

While it would also be rather foolish of one of the employees at Lucasfilm and Disney to risk their position by revealing its title in this fashion.

However, there are also signs that the title might fit with what’s in store in Star Wars 8 too. Daisy Ridley’s comments over the weekend, which The Inquisitr reported on earlier today, revealed that Star Wars 8 will start immediately where Star Wars: The Force Awakens left off, which is on the island of Skellig Michael in Ireland.

“Me and Mark [Hamill] have been rehearsing a lot, and it’s really amazing. When we went back to Skellig to do the opening of VIII, it was so crazy doing the same scene with a different crew of people,” Ridley explained to MTV. “He’s amazing to rehearse with, and I’m very excited to be doing the rest of the stuff.”

This led Bustle to insist that the titular Jedi Temple could actually in fact be where the final scene for Star Wars: The Force Awakens and the opening scene for Star Wars 8 takes place.

Unfortunately for writer and director Rian Johnson, the revelation that Star Wars 8 could be called Tale Of The Jedi Temple was met with disappointment, with many Reddit users perplexed by the use of Tale in the title.

This wasn’t the only tease regarding the potential new Star Wars title though. Because it was also alleged on Facebook by Mike Zeroh that the official title will be announced on May 4th. This would make sense, as it is already a special day in the year for Star Wars fans, as it’s recognised the world over as Star Wars day.

Whatever it ends up being called, Star Wars 8 will finally be released on December 15, 2017. It will also have the unenviable task of trying to eclipse the $2.048 billion that was grossed by Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
