Mega Millions Jackpot Hits $135 Million For Tonight’s Drawing
The Mega Millions jackpot is on a roll and tonight’s drawing will be for an estimated $135 million. No one has won Mega Millions since the January 8, 2016, jackpot was at $165 million. Mega Millions jackpots reset to $15 million after each grand prize win and tonight’s jackpot is the accumulation of each drawing that failed to produce a jackpot winner. Will tonight’s Mega Millions continue the trend and result in a larger draw or will someone match the winning numbers and become the next Mega Millions’ jackpot winner?

Mega Millions is the second most popular lottery game played in the United States and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Governed by the Multi State Lottery Association (MUSL), there are 44 states that regularly participate, along with the Virgin Islands and Washington D.C., for drawings that take place every Tuesday and Friday, at 11:00 p.m., ET. All drawings are held live in Atlanta, Georgia. Mega Millions has slightly better odds of winning than Powerball, but it also has smaller jackpots. Mega Millions game play is fairly straightforward and uncomplicated. You purchase a Mega Millions ticket for $1 and then choose your hopeful winning numbers. Mega Millions consists of two pools of numbers. One consists of white balls, the other of a gold Mega Ball. The white Mega Millions balls consist of numbers from 1-75 and the gold Mega Ball consists of a number between 1 and 15. You choose five white balls and one Mega Ball. You can choose the numbers yourself or have them randomly picked by the terminal. After you choose your numbers, you can opt to have the Mega Millions megaplier added to your ticket. The megaplier option costs $1 for each play. Players win the jackpot by matching all six winning numbers on the balls. The odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot are 1 out of 258,890,850.
There are nine ways to win at Mega Millions. In addition to winning the jackpot, players who match all five white balls, minus the Mega Ball win $1 million and this can easily be multiplied for those who add the Mega Millions megaplier to their ticket. The additional ways of winning helps ensure that when the jackpot rolls, winners are still made.
The Mega Millions megaplier option is offered in most states in increments of 2x, 3x, 4x and 5x.
