Kim Richards Hurt By ‘Real Housewives’: Claims She Got ‘Beat Up’ Over Her Troubles

Kim Richards has struggled with alcohol and prescription pill addiction over the past couple of years, but it was painful for her to deal with that issue on primetime television for thousands of people to see. She kept telling people that she wanted to deal with these issues behind closed doors, but her problems were quickly shared on national television. Kim is still dealing with her issues behind closed doors, but she’s now opening up about her troubles on a new reality show.

According to a new Radar Online report, Kim Richards decided to film The Mother/Daughter Experiment: Celebrity Edition with one of her daughters, Kimberly Jackson. It is no secret that she has struggled with sobriety but has fought hard for her children. While the ladies were in Amsterdam, she revealed that her children would be turning their backs on her if she relapsed. She later relapsed, but it sounds like her children are still there to support her.

“There’s been good moments, there’s been not so good moments,” Richards admitted while filming The Mother/Daughter Experiment: Celebrity Edition, adding, “It’s been a roller coaster ride. Being a part of the Housewives has been an experience. It really hurt me because I was struggling with certain things. It is tough to watch me get beat up by some of the girls on the show.”

It sounds like Kimberly feels that she has to take care of her mother. One can imagine that Kimberly has watched The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and seen how the other ladies talked about her mother on national television – plus the many people who are watching every week. Many people worried about Richards, because she appeared fragile. And since Kim recently lost her ex-husband Monty Brinson, she’s been dealing with some heavy emotions, and her daughter understands why she’s fragile and needs protection from the public.

“Being on the show and hearing people talk bad about her, it’s affected her a lot,” Jackson reveals, adding, “So I feel like somebody needs to protect her. I feel like I have to take care of her. She’s fragile physically and emotionally. And I think I’ve kind of taken over the role of like not the husband, but I’ve always felt like I have to be helping her, and it does overwhelm me.”

Many people expected Kim to relapse after losing Monty, because it had been so draining on her. Kim decided to start drinking again after dealing with his cancer diagnosis almost a year ago, which led to her arrest at the Beverly Hills Hotel. But she just wants to apologize to her children.

“I did the best that I could, so to let my kids down in any way is devastating,” Richards revealed while filming the show.

But she wants people to know that she’s doing just fine. Even though she’s not filming The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills right now, she is still close with Brandi Glanville. She recently visited Brandi’s podcast show, Brandi Glanville Unfiltered, and she revealed that she’s indeed very happy, according to E! Online.

“Everything is good… It’s a good time for me right now,” she told her friend on the podcast, adding “I’m really happy things are going good.”

And when Brandi talked about waking up with a smile on her face, Richards adding, “Well, not every day. It’s good. It’s better now. It was a rough time for a bit there but it’s just putting everything back in order and just really focusing on my family and me. Living in the present for me is just the best way and it’s the only way for me today. Realizing today is beautiful and I’m super grateful for right now and all who’s in it.”
