The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Yolanda Hadid has been very vocal about her lyme disease struggles, and it sounds like she wants to share her journey on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills to encourage and inspire others who are struggling with the same disease. This is why Hadid continues to post pictures of her health journey on social media. According to a new Bravo report, this Real Housewives star is now opening up about some personal struggles that weren’t featured on the show, and that weren’t shared on social media posts.
This week, the Real Housewives star visited Dr. Oz to talk about her lyme disease. There have been many critics questioning her illness, and she’s now speaking out about lyme disease on Dr. Oz. Maybe this will help her Real Housewives co-stars understand what she’s been going through.
“There were nights where Gigi, at three o’clock in the morning, had to drive me to the emergency room because I had such severe inflammation in my brain that I’d be balling on the floor like please take me to the hospital,” Yolanda revealed in a preview clip for her presence on Dr. Oz, adding, “So you know, and not just Gigi driving, Anwar and Bella in the back of the car and the three of us going to the hospital. And, them being there, they learn to take charge and be my strength.”
Of course, these Real Housewives kids have been a part of the show, but they haven’t really talked about their mother’s illness. During an episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Yolanda revealed that she could have contemplated suicide. While she doesn’t use the word, she does reveal that there were days where she wanted to give up and the only thing keeping her alive was her children.
“My children is what kept me alive. I remember just waiting for them to get out of school, just to give them a hug and look at them for hope,” the Real Housewives star revealed, adding, “There were many days that I really didn’t want to live anymore. But when you look at your children it’s not a choice anymore, right? You have to. You have to get through. You have to keep fighting and searching to get well.”
On The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Hadid had shared her will with her children, and they were heartbroken that Yolanda was thinking about possibly passing away. She just wants to be responsible and take care of her children, but this is something that is painful to talk about and watch. Yolanda has tried to convince her Real Housewives co-stars about her struggles, but they haven’t been so understanding.
“It’s interesting how the women have gone from judging my health journey, my no-makeup look, my happy selfies, my sad selfies, my character, my integrity, and now, as Kathryn mentioned, my tone? Yes, my tone is strong …,” Hadid explains in her Bravo blog, adding, “I am righteous and not afraid to speak my truth. My delivery might not always be as diplomatic as I would like it to be, but my words are truthful–spoken from the heart and to the point.”
It is no secret that her health has been a huge part of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills storyline. While Yolanda wants to use the platform to really spread awareness about her health, her co-stars believe that she’s using the Real Housewives platform to gain sympathy from viewers.
What do you think about Yolanda’s health struggles? Are you surprised that she’s getting so much criticism from Real Housewives viewers?
