Jennifer Garner Looks Glam At 2016 Oscars, Comes Face To Face With Ben Affleck’s BFF Matt Damon After Candid Interview

Jennifer Garner showed off her glamorous side on the red carpet for the 2016 Academy Awards. While the actress looked stunning in her Versace dress, she also ran into Ben Affleck’s best friend during the event, Matt Damon.

Damon was at the Oscars for his role in The Martian. According OK! Magazine, Damon was not that supportive of Affleck’s marriage to Garner, and believed that they were headed for a break up long before reports of his affair with Christine Ouzounian. “Matt believes Ben’s marriage was in shambles way before the nanny,” an inside source told the outlet. “There was too much anger there.”

Meanwhile, in her very frank interview with Vanity Fair, Garner revealed her marriage to the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice star was broken well before the affair.

“We had been separated for months before I ever heard about the nanny… She had nothing to do with our decision to divorce. She was not a part of the equation. Bad judgment? Yes. It’s not great for your kids for [a nanny] to disappear from their lives.”

Although they announced their divorce this past summer, Garner and Affleck have appeared together on a number of occasions. Despite their amicable attitude towards each other, Affleck did not appear alongside Garner during the Oscars.

Instead, Garner walked the red carpet solo. Apparently, the actress is not interested in dating at the moment, and is focused on the well-being of her children. Once the divorce is finalized, however, she might consider getting back into the dating game.

“She’s been able to focus on herself,” a source explained to People. “She made an effort to start the year fresh, and she is having a good year so far. She doesn’t find her private life ideal, but she has accepted it. It’s hard to picture her dating before the divorce is finalized.”

The insider went on to reveal that Jennifer Garner’s main goal right now is keeping her children away from the devastation of divorce. This is partly why she and Affleck have been spotted out and about with their children. While fans have taken this as a promising sign of a future reconciliation, Garner does not appear willingly to work things out.

Even still, People is reporting that Garner and Affleck recently hosted the birthday party of their youngest son, Samuel, together. The party was superhero themed and included a number of different celebrities in attendance. “It was a morning party,” a source told the magazine. “The kids had fun in the yard. Jen and Ben were both at the party. There was pizza and lots of snacks.”

While Affleck was present at his son’s birthday party, he did not attend the Oscars with Garner. At the same, Affleck is currently gearing up for the release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which is set to premiere at the end of March.

As far as Garner is concerned, it is unclear when she will start dating again. Whenever she decides that moment is right, the actress admitted that a lot has changed since the last time she dated anyone.

“I guess [I will date again]… I don’t know. It’s just that [from] everyone that I know that is dating it just seems, well… Men don’t call anymore… I want flowers; I don’t want to text. What does that make me? What kind of dinosaur am I?”

It has been eight months since Garner and Affleck announced their shocking split.
