Christina Aguilera Vows To Win ‘The Voice’ By Using Gwen Stefani ‘Girl Power’ Against Blake Shelton [Photos]

Christina Aguilera didn’t hesitate to take command when Season 10 of The Voice debuted Monday night. Slipping smoothly into the coach chair that Gwen Stefani commanded on the last season of The Voice, Christina made it clear that the three male coaches (Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, and Pharrell Williams) needed to step back while she took charge, reported the Daily Mail.

And just to make the message clear, Aguilera succeeded in getting the singing contestant that the other coaches craved. Alisan Porter now is 34, but she gained fame as a child actress in 1991, portraying Curly Sue in a film with Jim Belushi. Porter battled alcohol and drug addiction, then became a mom before making the decision to test her talent on The Voice.

Aguilera focused on getting Porter on Team Christina after Alisan sang “Blue Bayou.”

“I feel like a stalker fan right now… remember who sat up on stage and worshipped you,” confessed Christina.

While the coaches joked their way through the debut, there’s anticipation about the adviser who will help all of their teams during the knockout rounds. That’s Miley Cyrus, who proclaimed her excitement by tweeting a photo showing herself licking the button on the chair of Aguilera.

In addition to Miley, each team will have a dedicated mentor. As the Inquisitr reported, while Blake will have his girlfriend Gwen as his team’s mentor, Aguilera will have Patti LaBelle.

“I adore Christina, so I was honored and excited when she invited me to be a part of her team and we had a ball working together!” exclaimed LaBelle. “And there is so much talent on our team … everyone else better watch out!”

And Aguilera has more on her side than Patti when it comes to boosting her chances of coaching a contestant to victory. Although Stefani is set to serve as the mentor for Team Shelton, she’s actually rooting for Christina, according to Hollywood Life.

There’s an infamous “girl curse” that supposedly exists when it comes to a female coach selecting the winner of The Voice. Consequently, Aguilera revealed that when Stefani was a coach, Christina pleaded with her to end that curse. Since that didn’t happen last season, Aguilera is determined that this will be the season where a woman wins, and she contends that she has an unexpected cheerleader.

“I remember telling her … it was at, I think, Zuma’s birthday party. I was like, ‘Just do me one favor when you go in.’ I think was, like, eight months pregnant … I was like, ‘Please, like, give the boys hell. Break the girl curse.’ And it still hasn’t been done yet, so… I know she’s rooting me on to come try and fix that,” revealed Christina.

Aguilera predicted that although Blake’s girlfriend is supposed to mentor Shelton’s team, Christina is going to focus on getting her to support Team Aguilera.

“She’ll be around,” promised Christina confidently. “She’ll be around, I’m sure. I’m going to get her to take my side against all you guys. Girl power.”

Aguilera also revealed that she’s been studying just how all the male coaches succeed, reported People.

“I’ve got to play the cards right,” plotted Christina. “I’ve been taking notes from the guys for years now. Adam [Levine] came in full force [since] Season 1. He’s like the ultimate salesman [and] I’ve taken notes from this guy for years now.”

Aguilera also expressed her admiration for Pharrell.

“Pharrell just comes in and he’s just Mr. Humble like he’s got his own strategy, which is awesome, and that works for him,” added Aguilera.

And although Adam has enjoyed winning three times now, he’s up for giving the glory to a woman.

“I want to see a girl win,” declared Levine.

That support from Adam is a dramatic change from the rumors that prevailed for years that Levine and Aguilera were feuding. However, Season 10 of The Voice is a new start for the coaches, and Christina has made peace with Adam, an insider told Hollywood Life.

“Christina and Adam had a weird past because they both have large battling egos, it was like oil and water between them both,” revealed the insider. “But now they have got past all of that and everyone gets along great. She may be a diva still to outsiders, but for the crew and the other judges — everyone is friends and there is no drama with anyone right now!”

As for the scoop on those rumors that everyone is pushing for Aguilera to win?

“It would be very shocking if Christina doesn’t win this season,” admitted the source. “They are going to stack the cards in her favor. Get her that first win and try to eliminate the girl curse.”
