Kim Richards’ ‘Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills’ Return Kicks Off With Emotional Showdown With Kyle

Kim Richards is finally returning to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, but it won’t be an easy transition back to the Bravo reality show. The former child star will first have to get through an emotional sit-down with her sister Kyle Richards. E! News shared a new clip of Kim and Kyle Richards’ tear-filled talk, which has the famous sisters rehashing their long — and very public — family feud.

In the clip, Kim and her sis are featured for the first time since the RHOBH cast reunion last fall, a season-ending appearance that did not go well. While Kim says they need to talk things out, Kyle admits sometimes she doesn’t even want to go there. Kim agrees that digging up the past is harmful to their relationship, but she says it’s even worse when other cast members, like Lisa Rinna and Lisa Vanderpump, are present.

“For us to bring things up from the past can be so detrimental because then it’s just stirring up old stuff that isn’t healthy. But if something does come up that is going to affect our life today, then we need to talk about it and we need to do it quietly and the right way, and not with a group of people because that’s where everything took a terrible turn for you and I.”

Of course, with Bravo’s cameras always hovering nearby, it’s not always easy for Kim and her sister to talk in private. And considering that Kyle called Kim out as an alcoholic on-camera at the end of the first season of RHOBH, it seems that anything goes with this emotional duo. Since fans last saw the two sisters, they have been so estranged that Kyle says that she thinks Kim hates her.

Kim Richards was originally rumored not to appear on the sixth season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. After a tumultuous 2015, which included arrests for public drunkenness and shoplifting, Kim went to rehab, and she previously said she planned to focus on her sobriety. But late last year, Kyle dished that Kim was back to filming with the rest of the RHOBH cast. In an interview with People, Kyle said she and Kim plan to finish out their RHOBH run together.

Of starting the sixth season without Kim, the younger Richards sibling said, “She was taking care of herself, so it made sense, but it just felt weird.”

“We started this together. We were the first ones on the show, so it felt very strange.”

Kim Richards recently experienced a major loss with the death of her first husband, Monty Brinson. Kim had remained very close with her ex-husband over the years and even helped take care of him during his long battle with cancer. But as she deals with Monty’s death and tries to remain focused on her sobriety, Kim seems to be throwing herself back into work.

In fact, Kim Richards is doing double duty in the reality TV genre. In addition to her upcoming stint on RHOBH, she appears with her daughter Kimberly Jackson on Lifetime’s Mother Daughter Experiment: Celebrity Edition, where they are also working on their relationship struggles. Kyle Richards recently told TMZ that despite what people think, reality TV has been good for her sister Kim and may have even saved her life.
