Gwen Stefani And Blake Shelton Get Handsy, Gwen Could Face Off Against Christina Aguilera On ‘The Voice’

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton looked as in love as ever at the Vanity Fair Oscars party on Sunday night, but could the couple be competing against each other in the future? Fans of The Voice might have a hard time imagining Gwen and Blake being on separate teams again now that they’re a couple — especially after they see how touchy-feely they got at RaeLynn’s wedding — but rumor has it that a future season of the show could feature Gwen Stefani and Christina Aguilera facing off against each other to be the first female coach to win The Voice.

During this season of The Voice, Gwen Stefani is acting as Blake Shelton’s adviser. This means that she won’t appear on the show until the battle rounds, which will likely begin around Episode 7. In the meantime, Shefani fans will have to be content with seeing Gwen and Blake appear together at other events, and the celebrity couple of three months definitely hasn’t disappointed so far.

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton were two of the many celebrities who stopped by photographer Mark Seliger’s “instant portrait studio” at the Vanity Fair Oscars party on Sunday night. As you can see, Blake seemed completely mesmerized by the see-through gown that Gwen chose to wear to the event. Entertainment Tonight compared Gwen Stefani’s mesh Vanina Couture dress to the scene in American Beauty where Mina Suvari wears nothing but some strategically-placed rose petals.

Gwen Stefani actually performed a few of her biggest hits at the Vanity Fair Oscars party, including “Hollaback Girl,” “Used to Love You,” “Cool,” and “Make Me Like You.”

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton were very affectionate with one another at the Oscars bash, but Entertainment Tonight reports that Blake got even friskier with Gwen at the wedding of former The Voice contestant RaeLynn. Gwen and Blake jetted off to Franklin, Tennessee, to attend the event on Saturday, and being at a wedding clearly put the couple in a very affectionate mood. They couldn’t keep their hands off of each other, and Gwen was even filmed grabbing Blake’s butt! They look like two smitten teens in the video below.

Blake Shelton met RaeLynn on Season 2 of The Voice after she chose him to be her mentor. Blake was the Voice mentor who won Season 2, but with a different artist: Jermaine Paul. According to Wetpaint, Blake Shelton is the mentor on The Voice with the most wins — the country crooner has coached four artists to victory. Members of Team Adam Levine have won three times, and Pharrell Williams and Usher have mentored one winner apiece.

No female coach has won The Voice after nine seasons, and show insiders have a plan to increase the chance of this happening during a future season if one of Christina Aguilera’s team members doesn’t finish first during Season 10. According to Hollywood Life, Gwen might actually coach AGAINST Christina on a future season of the NBC show.

“If Christina loses this season, they definitely would want to pit her against Gwen in a future season to have a better chance of finally getting a girl winner,” a source revealed.

The Voice has always had three male coaches and one female coach, so balancing things out could finally help Gwen Stefani or Christina Aguilera score a win. During an interview with EXTRA, Blake indicated that he would like Gwen and Christina to compete on the show at the same time. However, in his ideal world, NBC would install another spinning seat in front of The Voice stage.

“Why can’t we have a fifth coach?” Blake asked. “I vote for that.”

Would you like to see Gwen Stefani and Christina Aguilera competing against each other on The Voice? And do you think Blake Shelton would live to regret saying that he wants both ladies on the show at the same time?
