Jennifer Garner Glams Up At The Oscars Sans Ben Affleck
Jennifer Garner spent the first half of her weekend doing mom duty, but she still managed to sneak in a solo outing. The Miracles from Heaven actress arrived at the 2015 Academy Awards on Sunday looking glamorous and ready to party, as reported by People.
Garner, 43, was one of the presenters at the awards ceremony, and she looked beautiful in a black, off-the-shoulder gown from Atelier Versace. Garner usually dresses up in a girl-next-door simple style, but she decided to glam it up for her mom’s night off.
The Versace gown has an asymmetrical neckline that flatters Garner’s toned upper body. The skirt’s flowing fabric had a bit of slit to reveal Garner’s legs without showing too much. Garner had her hair in an elegant updo and paired off her outfit with sparkly bracelets and earrings but left her neck bare. She completed the outfit with sparkly, strappy black heels.
Garner’s appearance at the Oscars was very noticeable since this is the first Oscars she attended without her estranged husband, actor-director Ben Affleck. The couple filed for divorce last summer after 10 years of marriage. Since the divorce announcement, Garner and Affleck continued to show up at certain events together, especially if it involved family activities.
Jennifer Garner did not show up completely solo tonight. The actress took her close friend and manager, Nicole King, as her Oscars date. Garner happily posed for pictures on the red carpet and even managed to wave to cheering fans on the sidelines.
Garner even managed to sneak in a quick selfie with Common during a commercial break.

February has been a busy month for Garner. She and Affleck took their family on a fun Valentine’s Day weekend vacation in Montana as part of their kids’ winter break. Garner also did a candid interview for Vanity Fair wherein she was brutally honest about her marriage to Affleck.
Garner started off this weekend hosting a birthday party for her youngest, Sam, who turned four, at her Pacific Palasades home. Ben Affleck was also present for his son’s birthday. The family later had dinner at a Santa Monica restaurant.
Garner did not hold back in the Vanity Fair interview, where she also graces their cover for the March edition. Garner claims that Affleck is the love of her life and that she tried everything to save her marriage. Garner acknowledged the affair that Affleck had with their former nanny Christine Ouzounian, but she said that they were already separated when that incident happened.
Garner even felt bad when this year’s Golden Globes’ host Ricky Gervais poked fun at Affleck, when the snarky host made a comment that Matt Damon is “the only person who Affleck is faithful to.” Garner said she found the comment funny, but also felt bad for Affleck.
“I laughed. People have pain — they do regrettable things, they feel shame, and shame equals pain. No one needs to hate him for me. I don’t hate him”
Garner continues to keep herself busy. She is doing press and interviews to promote the upcoming Miracles from Heaven, which has a March 18 release date. Garner is one of the stars of the film, which inspired her to be more in touch with her Christian faith.
