Katy Perry And Beyoncé Expected To Put Out New Albums Soon

Pop music fans are looking forward to new albums by two of pop music’s biggest superstars, Katy Perry and Beyoncé. Katy Perry, whose last hit album Prism came out in 2013, hasn’t announced a release date, but fans expect an album out during the third quarter of the year.

Ms. Perry recently talked about her album with the New York Times.

“I’m in the research and development phase. I’ve been going at it for eight or nine years in the spotlight, and then before that there’s that decade of hustle that never gets recognized but still shows up in your wrinkles.”

Perry added that she is taking time and doesn’t want to jump in on any trends. She claimed she does her records in a traditional three-year cycle. It’s quite amazing that after all her success, Katy Perry has never won a Grammy, although she has been nominated for 13. The New York Times asked Ms. Perry how she felt about this.

“The only thing that is on my mind when creating music is being authentic and vulnerable and making sure that it connects. And I know that it does connect because numbers don’t lie. I know that might sound a little sassy, but all I want to do is stay true to myself and dig deep to pull out some of the messages or perspectives that I have on the world.”

It’s likely that Beyoncé will release a new album before Katy Perry does, given the rumors that Beyoncé’s album is said to be already done. According to Hits Daily Double, Beyoncé could release her album in April.

“Beyoncé is close to making a new worldwide, multi-album deal with Sony Music, and the final release under the current deal is now set for April. But there are rumors of another Beyoncé album in 2016, this one a joint project with husband Jay Z.”

Hits Daily Double adds that Beyoncé’s star power is at an all-time high, especially since her stadium tour sold out within hours after the Super Bowl promo. She is playing two stadium dates in both Chicago and New York City.

The Independent talks about all the artists who are linked to Beyoncé’s album.

“Numerous artists linked to the album already, including Clean Bandit (who called their time in the studio with Beyoncé ‘insane’), Ed Sheeran, Future (who once mentioned he was at ‘Jay’s place’ but was actually ‘working with Bey’), D.R.A.M. (pictured in the studio with the singer), Naughty Boy and – strangely – Car Delevinge.”

Twitter is very excited for a new Beyoncé album.

Meanwhile, it was revealed that MSNBC‘s Melissa-Harris Perry was nixed because she wanted to talk more about Beyoncé’s video for “Formation.” According to the New York Daily News, the news anchor started talking about the video, but the network cut straight into election coverage. MSNBC has yet to address the controversy, but you can bet the cable channel will have 24-hour news coverage when the Formation World Tour kicks off.
