Cara Delevingne Says New Facebook Buttons Will Cause More Cyber Bulllying

Cara Delevingne has always been outspoken, and at times that has gotten her into trouble. Now, she’s speaking up against Facebook’s new buttons, especially the Dislike button, and she is taking a strong interest in how some users will employ the new buttons. She says her concern is that the new buttons will be used to harass and bully other Facebook users.

Cara Delevingne Wants Facebook To Take More Responsibility

Ms. Delevingne expressed concern in a recent interview that companies like Facebook are putting new tech in our hands without regard to how it will be used. Cara says Facebook should give more thought to how these new buttons will affect users instead of rushing to roll out the next big thing.

“If you can go around disliking someone’s pictures, that is going to set off a whole new wave of bullying,” says the Suicide Squad star.

Ms. Delevingne suggests that as we recognize the potential for harm in new technology, we should work together to limit that item’s uses. Cara also says individual users should take more responsibility.

“‘Like’ away but if you have a bad thought about someone, keep it to yourself,” Delevingne said.

Speaking of both collective power as a society and individual power, Cara suggested that today’s youth has it within them to create real change. The advent of social media has put the power in the people’s hands like never before, says Delevingne. She adds that the young people of today just need guidance to focus their immense power.

“It’s important that they have somebody to look up to, whether it’s me or someone else.”

Cara Delevingne Says She Adopted Leo To Satisfy Her Maternal Instincts

That’s right. Cara is the proud parent of a crossbreed rescue dog, and she says she adopted the dog to satisfy her need to have a baby of her own. As news of the adoption became known, Cara was asked if she’d wanted a dog for very long.

“Er, no, actually. I wanted a baby for a while. But I thought, well…”

Cara has a reputation for her own brand of humor, and some may think there isn’t much the model turned actress takes seriously, but she’s now showing that nothing could be further from the truth. Ms. Delevingne has become inseparable from Leo, taking him everywhere with her.

Professionally, Cara has been bouncing back and forth between modeling and acting. Ms. Delevingne was most recently chosen to be the next face of YSL Beaute Rouge Volupte Shine Lipsticks, which is surprising because she has previously said that she doesn’t wear lipstick.

“I don’t wear make-up. I can’t, because I’ve got eyebrows the size of Texas. Lipstick and eyebrows don’t really work unless you have a lot of eyes on, in my opinion.”

While Cara is one of the most sought-after models in the fashion industry, she has often thumbed her nose at many of the accepted practices of fashion, itself. Her inability to wear lipstick is only one such example. She admits to wearing track suits much of the time and even feels surprised by how nicely she’s been made up for photo shoots.

“Oh, that’s what I can look like,” Ms. Delevingne says of seeing herself made up for fashion pictorials.

Ms. Delevingne accepts that she has become a role model for her millions of fans, which is why she tries to be open about her practices and even about her sexuality. For this reason, she came forward with her warnings about Facebook’s new user buttons, expressing her hopes that fans will take her advice to heart.
