The Mega Millions jackpot continues to roll, and with it is excitement about playing the game. Mega Millions and Powerball are the two most popular lottery games known for having large jackpots. Mega Millions jackpots reset to $15 million after every jackpot win and the Powerball jackpot resets to $40 million. Both Mega Millions and the Powerball jackpots have been on a continuous roll and are growing larger each draw.
Those who play Mega Millions will need to determine how they will select their numbers. Mega Millions tickets cost $1 per play and you can choose your numbers yourself, or have the terminal randomly select them through a quick pick. Both methods have been effective for winning the jackpot and there isn’t one method that is above the other. Some people prefer to choose their own winning number combinations and play them repeatedly. Once you decide how you will play, you will also need to choose whether to add the Mega Millions megaplier. The megaplier will multiply your non-jackpot wins and can help people win big, even if they don’t win the top prize. Be certain to sign the back of your ticket immediately as this helps ensure it remains safe and protected from damage.

It’s important to make sure your Mega Millions tickets remain in good condition in case they match the winning numbers. Your ticket must be signed and the numbers clearly legible in order to successfully make your claim. If your state lottery can’t read the numbers, they may refuse your payout and your winning ticket will essentially become void. Put your Mega Millions ticket in a safe place immediately after you purchase it and sign it. Make sure you know where it is so you can retrieve it on the night of the drawing.
Mega Millions is played in 44 states; Washington, D.C.; and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The game is governed by the Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL), and more people from states that don’t have Mega Millions are wanting the game to come to their states as well. It isn’t uncommon for people to cross state lines and play the lottery when the jackpot rolls to a great amount. This was commonly seen when the Powerball drawing reached $1.58 billion on the January 13 drawing.
The next Mega Millions drawing will take place on Tuesday, March 1, at 11:00 p.m. ET. The jackpot will be an estimated $135 million with an estimated cash value of $88,400,000. Are you going to play Mega Millions and try your luck at winning the next jackpot?
