President Obama, DOJ Accused Of ‘Thuggery,’ ‘Overreach,’ In Push To Remove Voter ID Requirement, Allows Illegal Immigrants To Vote

The Obama Administration and the Department of Justice (DOJ) are being accused of leftist impropriety and thuggery. True the Vote blasted President Obama for his push to remove the ID requirement ahead of the 2016 elections. Republicans and other critics say the partisan and bullying politics from a recent lawsuit filing effectively gives illegal immigrants the right to vote without the need to show proof of American citizenship.

The US Herald, reports that President Obama and the DOJ (called “DC Thugs”) launched a countermeasure against an effort from the Election Assistance Commission (EAC) that upheld three states’ request to require valid identification to take part in the voting process.

The League of Women Voters and other pro-voter groups joined the president and DOJ attorneys in petitioning the court to halt partisan attempts to disenfranchise certain groups of potential voters — namely African-Americans, Latinos, and other minority groups. The UH took the side that the government’s sharp departure is designed to allow illegal migrants the right to vote to tip the scales in favor of Democrats’ vie for the White House. Traditionally, larger numbers of minority voters identify with the Democratic Party.

True The Vote founder, Catherine Engelbrecht, describes Obama’s “radicalized” actions as pandering to leftists ideology in a systemic attempt to get around the integrity of the election process. Days ago, she issued a statement about the latest court filing and actions that she believes represents a violation of the DOJ’s Constitutional duty to the EAC.

“The nation’s leading voters’ rights and election integrity organization, today offered comment on a recent lawsuit filed by a collection of progressive interest groups with assistance from the U.S. Department of Justice, intent on removing citizenship verification measures in voter registration.

“Any state or federal agency that works to prevent non-U.S. citizens from registering to vote in 2016 will witness the full wrath—lawful or not—of the Department of Justice.”

Engelbrecht rebukes the current administration, saying it acts like an organized crime element of the government that skirts the law for political reasons.

“But, these common thugs can be stopped if law-abiding citizens will stand their ground.”

Talk from both political parties has centered on the Constitution’s meaning of a person’s right to vote. Democrats have long held that the GOP panders to its Conservative base to limit voter turnout by any means necessary. As Bernie Sanders often says during his campaign stops, his party “does well when turnout is high.”

On the other hand, Republican lawmakers say they are only concerned with the rule of law. In other words, they believe immigrants in the country illegally should not be granted the right to vote. The best way to decide legal residency is by some form of sanctioned identification. Democrats say this creates an unfair disadvantage to minorities; many legal residents are unable to get proper documents due to transportation constraints and lack of access to other resources.

Late last month, so-called “leftist groups,” ACORN’s Project Vote, the NAACP, and the Justice Department filed a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction when the EAC gave Kansas, Georgia, and Alabama the right to enforce their states’ voter ID requirement.

Surprisingly, the DOJ abandoned its responsibility to defend the EAC and prohibited it from hiring legal counsel. Instead, it petitioned the court to block the states’ initiatives. Federal District Court Judge Richard Leon presided over the matter and denied a request for a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction. He stated the government was ill-prepared to argue its side. Moreover, he accused the president’s emissaries of having political motivations. Leon said “the DOJ must represent its client’s actual wishes, not abandon them for political gain.”

Republicans and other conservative groups declared a victory in this stage of the case before the court. Leon scheduled a re-hearing for March 9.
