‘The Walking Dead’ Spoilers: Negan’s Introduction For Season 6 Finale Filmed Twice – Will F-Bomb Laced Version Make It On AMC?

The Walking Dead fans have been eagerly anticipating the arrival of Negan since before Season 6 even started filming. It’ll be just a bit longer though because the biggest bad guy of the TWD series won’t be making his entrance until the Season 6 finale, and we have four more episodes to get through first. One spoiler we have learned is that The Walking Dead shot the finale two different ways and there is talk of a special episode for those who catch the finale during its first run on Sunday night.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan will be playing the exciting, yet highly-feared Negan on The Walking Dead and his portrayal is sure to be a bigger hit than his barbed wire wrapped baseball bat that he calls Lucille. Negan is known in the TWD comics as a foul-mouthed menace who kills at will. For those who don’t follow the comics, Negan loves to drop F-bombs and he does with such poetic precision that editing them out might make him seem like less than he really is. He does have a few rules though despite being one of the most barbaric characters to face off against Rick, Daryl and the rest of the group in Alexandria. Negan doesn’t kill women and children so we’re hoping that will help Rick’s group figure out a way to battle him because some of their most skilled fighters are just that.

Despite broadcast rules, Robert Kirkman has guaranteed that The Walking Dead fans won’t be getting a watered down version of Negan when he finally makes his appearance in the Season 6 finale. There are some words that just aren’t allowed because of FCC rules, but Kirkman says they are still being filmed for the show. According to Moviepilot, Kirkman is having the finale shot two different ways, one with profanity and one that will please the censors.

So far, it’s still not decided how TWD fans will be able to see what Kirkman refers to as the “Full-Octane Negan” but he will make sure to get that out. “We’re sorting that out now, but I will say that worst-case scenario, the extras will be extra-special on Blu-ray. I mean, we’re trying to explore some other more interesting options, but that’s the bare minimum of what we’ll be doing.”

There are rumors that the uncut version of Negan’s entrance in the TWD finale would air on AMC for the first run but it looks like that might not happen. Truly, it’s all up to AMC and the censors to decide how far they want to push the envelope. It’s more likely that the edited version will run on television screens with a much edgier version of Negan available on blu-ray or possibly even online the way Rick’s use of an F-bomb in Season 4 was changed for the first run but aired online later.

There is talk that The Walking Dead might try to show the original take with profanity and see if AMC allows it. There have been arguments made that it might fly on some level because FX recently said motherf***er during American Crime Story on Tuesday night so there is some F-bomb wiggle room. Just how far will AMC go with the televised version of the Season 6 finale of The Walking Dead? Fans will probably have to tune in to find out which version of Negan gets introduced. If AMC ends up deciding to censor out some or all of Negan’s profanity then fans can still be assured that the “Full-Throttle” Negan will still be available.
