Justin Bieber May Drop A Rap Track With Diplo This Summer — Details

Justin Bieber may be mere months away from dropping a rap track this summer, says producer and collaborator Diplo.

News of the unreleased track comes hot on the heels of the pair winning a Grammy for their luminous EDM-Pop gem “Where Are U Now,” alongside Skrillex.

Diplo dished on the unheard jam during a red carpet spot with Fuse at the recent BRIT Awards. “We actually have a crazy track that we never put out with him, like a rap song, too, that you might see in the summer time,” he said.

“He’s [Bieber] busy. He’s gotta promote his album for a long time…He’s gonna be busy for a while doing Purpose, which is a sick album,” the OWSLA head added.

For anyone familiar with the 21-year-old superstar’s rap glo-up on Travis Scott’s Rodeo cut “Maria I’m Drunk,” his latest critically acclaimed album, and various casual freestyles over the years, the prospect of fresh Justin Bieber bars on a Diplo-produced banger will be an intriguing one.

Watch the Major Lazer honcho tease the upcoming Biebs’ collaboration.

On Thursday night, after a visit to The Nice Guy hotspot in West Hollywood, Justin and pals went on to party at the 1Oak nightclub until around 4 a.m.

The singer spent time hanging out in the DJ area with Travis Scott and others, while a selection of the Canadian’s hits were played.

Meanwhile, it’s been a historic new weeks for Justin. Last weekend, after winning his aforementioned first Grammy alongside Skrillex and Diplo, for, the trio performed it at the Los Angeles ceremony.

Then, at the Brit Awards, Justin delivered a rendition of “Love Yourself” with James Bay before thrilling the crowd with a fiery performance of “Sorry.” The singer also won the Best International Male Award at the ceremony.

Before the world gets to (maybe) hear Bieber’s rap track with Diplo, the pop icon recently announced his fourth Purpose single will be “Company.” The R&B mid-tempo will be sent to radio on March 7 as the next official release. The song features deep bass, shimmering high synths, and an insistent chorus in which Biebs sings, “Can we/We keep/Keep each other company/Maybe we/Can be/Be each other’s company/Oh company.”

The verse lyrics are just as slinky. Justin suggests to a gal pal, “Let’s set each other’s lonely nights/Be each other’s paradise/Need a picture for my frame/Someone to share my reign.”

So, will “Company” follow the chart-slaying success of “What Do You Mean?”, “Sorry,” and “Love Yourself?” Is three times the charm, or can Purpose pull off four No. 1’s?

“Mean” debuted atop Billboard‘s Hot 100 following its release back on August 28. “Sorry” topped the Hot 100 for three weeks, and “Love Yourself” did so for two non-consecutive weeks.

All three singles also hit No. 1 in the U.K. and various charts around the world. Earlier this year, the Biebs made U.K. chart history with that trio when he became the first artist ever to the occupy the top three spots on the Top 40 chart at the same time. Each single also reached No. 1.
