‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ Shocker: Dakota Johnson Had A Butt Double!
Fifty Shades of Grey has two kinds of fans and both found Dakota Johnson to be the main attraction, but some of those fans may have been misled. It seems those scenes in which Dakota is nude and exposing her behind for some well-deserved (at least according to Jamie Dornan’s Mr. Grey) corporal punishment were not all on the up and up. Johnson had a buttocks stand-in, according to the Fifty Shades of Grey cinematographer.

As Fifty Shades of Grey starts out and we meet Anastasia Steele, as played by Dakota, we find her to be a rather frumpy, naive girl only taking on the big city’s conglomeration of concrete and steel to help out her roommate. In fact, she never really breaks out of her innocent little shell, except for a few rare instances, when Grey pushes her just a bit too far. This is not the kind of girl to have tattoos marking up her assets, which is exactly what led Fifty Shades of Grey cinematographer Seamus McGarvey to insist on a butt stand-in.
In describing the various sex scenes throughout Fifty Shades of Grey, McGarvey says that protecting the actors was one of the most important aspects. Jamie Dornan wore a cover over his penis and Johnson also wore a patch over her pubic area. Dakota’s patch extended around to cover her completely, but Seamus adds that nothing could really cover up the actress’ ink.
“I wouldn’t say it was one of the highlights of my career, but it certainly was one of the most surreal scenarios,” admits the Fifty Shades of Grey cinematographer. “We did have a butt double for Dakota. I had the pleasure of casting a nontattooed bottom — Surreal Scenario No. 2.”
Ms. Johnson revealed that she has a love for tattoos and there are times she goes a little overboard.
“I went through a phase where I loved tattoos, and I loved the feeling of getting tattooed,” Johnson says. “But now I’ve outgrown them mostly, and [because] I always have to cover them for jobs, God, they’re annoying!”

Ms. Johnson revealed she’s not really the wild party girl she might sometimes play in movies, preferring a quiet night at home with a good book over a night spent in the clubs. She says that’s okay and she wants other young women to know it is okay to explore oneself and the world without regard to the opinions of others.
“I don’t need a partner to feel complete. In today’s society there’s less of a stigma on being single,” the How to Be Single actress said. “I think society is relinquishing some of the pressures of needing to find a spouse.”
Previously, Dakota had been involved with British rocker Matthew Hitt, but she says that relationship has run its course. Although she has also been linked to actor Jake Gyllenhaal, Dakota insists she’s currently single.
For those fans wondering what she looks for in a man and hoping to improve their chances with the starlet, if the opportunity should ever present itself, Dakota says she looks for the basics. Someone who’s kind and who is respectful towards her and can keep up with her. She adds that intelligence has great sex appeal for her.
On the subject of her personal life, Dakota also says that she sometimes feels men are afraid to approach her. Ms. Johnson thinks she can be intimidating.
Currently, Fifty Shades Darker is set to begin production, so Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan will both be too busy for romance. The film is scheduled for a February 9, 2017, release.
