Nick Cannon Speaks Out About Living With Lupus
Nick Cannon, of America’s Got Talent, has been through a lot lately with his divorce from Mariah Carey and being diagnosed with lupus. Now Us Magazine is sharing that Nick is speaking out about living with lupus and how he is doing now. Fans are happy to hear from Nick and get all the details straight from him. Nick was diagnosed with lupus back in 2012, and has been very focused on his health since then.

Things got really bad for Nick Cannon for a bit when he was diagnosed years ago. Nick had kidney failure and blood clots in his lung. He shared that luckily, nobody else in his family has this autoimmune disease. Nick spoke out and revealed how his battle has been.
“It was superscary just because you don’t know… you’ve never heard of [lupus]. I knew nothing about it until I was diagnosed… But to me, I’m healthier now than I’ve ever been before.”
It doesn’t sound totally easy for Nick Cannon, but he shared that if you have an autoimmune disease you have to figure out what is best to eat for you and take preventative measures. If you can keep from having flare ups, then it is easier on you. Nick Cannon even went on to share some of the details about living with someone in your life who has lupus.
“Especially if you’re dealing with someone who has it. When you hear the words ‘autoimmune disease’ or ‘lupus,’ it’s like, ‘Whoa, what is that?’ That’s how I felt, and that’s how my family and friends felt as well… But you realize it’s something that you can live with and actually overcome with the proper research and with the proper support system.”
People shared that even though Nick Cannon is still working and doing a lot, he isn’t ready to date just yet since his divorce from Mariah Carey. Nick shared that he doesn’t have that all figured out just yet. The funny thing is that Nick is now writing a movie that is all about online dating, but it doesn’t sound like you will be seeing him doing the online dating thing. Nick is not against it, but this father of two is not ready to jump into that world just yet.

Nick Cannon shared that a lot of his life is his children and when he doesn’t have them, Nick loves to just enjoy some quiet time. It does sound like Nick and Mariah are doing just fine with co-parenting, even though everyone knows that can be hard. Nick shared that they are working hard right now to make sure that their children stay grounded. He talked about taking them to Chuck E. Cheese.
“It’s just such a normal existence but it’s so chaotic and they love it. It was my favorite place to go growing up. My kids can one day be on a yacht in South Africa and the next moment just be embracing the playpen at Chuck E. Cheese, having fun. I think we’re doing a fairly good job keeping them well-rounded, showing them the remarkable things in the world but also letting them understand that they’re just normal 4-year-olds.”
