Husband Of Missing Woman Commits Suicide

The husband of a missing California woman has reportedly committed suicide, and just hours after giving a television interview about the disappearance of his wife. The Dreamin’ Demon reports that Paul Titchener jumped off of the Bay Bridge, ending his life, after he was interviewed about the gruesome discovery of dismembered body parts during the search for his missing wife.

Fox News reports that a dismembered human torso was found on Sunday. On Tuesday, more body parts were found that may or may not be connected to the disappearance of the missing woman. Authorities have confirmed that Paul Titchener was a person of interest in the disappearance of Shelly Titchener.

Shelly Titchener was reported missing on Feb. 15 by her husband. However, she hadn’t been seen by anyone for two days prior to this. Paul Titchener told police that they had gotten into an argument on the day before Valentine’s Day, which prompted her to “go stay with a friend.” However, Shelly Titchener left without her car, cellphone, medication for her bipolar disorder, and other essential belongings.

NBC News reports that the missing woman was supposedly spotted at Nordstrom’s at Hillsdale Shopping Mall in San Mateo. The supposed sighting was between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. She also reportedly talked to one of her neighbor’s on the same day, which was reportedly on Feb. 15. However, authorities haven’t made 100 percent confirmation on whether or not these sightings have checked out in the search for Titchener.

The son of both Shelly and Paul Titchener made a post on Facebook not long after news of his father’s suicide made waves. He also seemed to acknowledge that his mother, Shelly, is dead, even though authorities have not made any positive confirmation on the body parts that have been found in the search for her.

This is certainly a tragic story that leaves behind more questions than answers — questions which may forever remain a mystery to the loved ones of the missing woman and her husband. Neighbors have stated, however, that the couple frequently fought, especially after the man moved back into the home after a brief separation. Shelly’s brother has also made statements indicating that Paul Titchener was “maybe holding back information.”

Even though Paul Titchener is dead, he still remains a person of interest in the disappearance (and possible death) of his wife. That’s been made apparent by recent developments in the search for Shelly Titchener. Authorities in Brisbane have served search warrants involving Paul’s home, business, and vehicles in association with the investigation.

Do you think Paul Titchener knew more about his wife’s disappearance than he led police to believe? Or did the shocking discovery of dismembered human body parts lead him to commit a drastic act? Depending on how the investigation goes, those questions may be answered — but how thoroughly? Meanwhile, the family members of the Titcheners are asking for privacy while they grieve during this tough time.
