Justin Bieber’s Friends Were Not Involved In Nightclub ‘Fight’ — Report

A false tabloid story claiming one of Justin Bieber’s friends started a fight at a Brit Awards after-party at the Tape nightclub has been debunked.

As it turns out, two new reports confirm Bieber’s small group of pals and security were not the cause of the fight, which took place at Tape club in London on Wednesday evening. The 21-year-old superstar went to a party there after performing at the star-studded Brit Awards, where he also won the award for Best International Male Artist.

So what did happen at the club? TMZ and Gossip Cop report, Jacobi Anstruther-Gough-Calthorpe, the founder and manager of Tape revealed a minor scuffle started near the VIP section where Justin was hanging out, when a man snuck a camera into the nightclub and tried to photograph the young singer without his consent.

According to Calthorpe, the Tape club has a strict no-camera policy and “Justin got pissed off” when he spotted the would-be snapper. When club security physically removed the man, it sparked off a low-key brawl. Calthorpe also downplayed talk of a “fight” and said it was more of a “bustle.”

The U.K.’s Mirror is the tabloid which falsely claimed one of Bieber’s pals started the so-called fight. The paper also claimed the singer “abruptly left” the club after the incident because he was “fuming” over the disturbance.

However, that is also not true. The Tape founder told Gossip Cop that not only did Justin’s group not have anything to do with the incident, but the heartthrob didn’t abruptly leave the club after it. In fact, Bieber simply moved to the back section of the building, where he hung out in a private recording studio and played music for the rest of the night with Diplo and Metro Boomin.

The actual facts of the brawl are a lot less sensational than the way the Mirror reported them. And, of course, being a tabloid, the publication was keen to rope Bieber’s friends into the story as “instigators” to make it more juicy.

In the Mirror’s exaggerated version, a so-called “source” claimed, “A man from [Bieber’s] his [VIP] group suddenly launched at someone from outside the group… Bieber looked fuming and the whole thing descended into chaos. Everyone was pushing and shoving.”

The probably-fabricated insider added, “Security got involved and managed to break it up. Bieber tried to carry on with his night but there was a really tense atmosphere and the club was overcrowded. He then abruptly left out of the back door.”

However, as discerning readers are now aware, the only part of the above two paragraphs which is correct is that there was a scuffle or minor brawl inside the club. But, Bieber’s friends were nothing to do with it. Neither did the singer leave the Tape club “abruptly.”

The news that the Mirror tabloid is the source of a clickbait angled-story comes after the tabloid was publicly called out earlier this week for plagiarizing another newspaper.

On Tuesday, February 23, the tabloid published what it billed as an “exclusive interview” with Bieber. In reality, the rag actually lifted wholesale passages from The Telegraph’s spread with Bieber last year. Other unverifiable quotes were fabricated.

Gossip Cop subsequently reported a rep for Bieber said the Mirror’s “interview” was “BS.”

As for Bieber, after a successful night at the Brit Awards, and his visit to the Tape nightclub, the singer jetted out of London, and is thought to be back in the U.S.
