WWE News: This Week’s ‘WWE NXT’ & ‘Thursday Night SmackDown’ Spoilers

Note: The following contains spoilers for WWE NXT airing on February 24 and WWE Thursday Night SmackDown airing on February 25. A spoiler-free WWE NXT preview is also available.

On the episode of WWE Monday Night Raw that aired this week the night after WWE Fastlane, both Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose took beatings that surpassed what either of them experienced the night before in the Triple Threat Match that headlined Sunday’s event. The Lunatic Fringe was attacked by Brock Lesnar prior to WWE Raw, and WWE showed clips of the video footage repeatedly. After Dean drove the ambulance back to the arena, he suffered further abuse from The Beast Incarnate before Lesnar finally granted Ambrose a Street Fight at WrestleMania 32.

Roman Reigns, on the other hand, was left bloodied and battered when WWE World Heavyweight Champion Triple H had his way with The Big Dog after the main event of WWE Raw had concluded. Both Reigns and Ambrose are “injured” and therefore not present on WWE SmackDown this week, but they certainly don’t go unnoticed. In their absense, The New Day faces A.J. Styles and friends in a Six-Man Tag Team Match.

On WWE NXT, NXT Women’s Champion Bayley is in tag team action with friend Carmella as they challenge Eva Marie and Nia Jax.

WWE Thursday Night SmackDown spoilers

This episode was taped in Indianapolis, Indiana, on February 23.

  • WWE SmackDown begins with Triple H cutting a promo on Roman Reigns. Reportedly, Triple H received cheers and was very over.
  • The League of Nations defeated The Lucha Dragons, Neville and Dolph Ziggler.
  • Kevin Owens was interviewed by Renee Young and he offered Dean Ambrose a rematch for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. As The Lunatic Fringe was not in attendance (“injury” suffered at the hands of Brock Lesnar), Big Show took up the challenge instead.
  • D-Von Dudley defeated Jimmy Uso.
  • Kevin Owens defeated Big Show by count-out.
  • Becky Lynch and Natalya wrestled to a no decision after Naomi and Tamina interfered. Sasha Banks made the save, while Charlotte announced that Banks and Lynch would have a match at WWE Raw to determine the No. 1 contender for the WWE Divas Championship.
  • R-Truth defeated Heath Slater with an assist from Goldust.
  • A.J. Styles, Chris Jericho & Mark Henry defeated The New Day in a Six-Man Tag Team Match.

WWE NXT spoilers

This episode was taped at the University of Central Florida on January 29 as part of the Royal Rumble weekend.

  • American Alpha (Chad Gable and Jason Jordan) defeated Blake and Murphy.
  • Apollo Crews defeated Christopher Girard.
  • Tommaso Ciampa defeated Bull Dempsey
  • Eva Marie and Nia Jax defeated Bayley and Carmella

Where To Watch

The WWE Network airs new episodes of WWE NXT on Wednesdays at 8/7c. It is available for streaming on-demand immediately. Additionally, on Thursdays, replays of WWE NXT are available to stream on-demand with a Hulu Plus subscription. USA airs WWE Thursday Night SmackDown at 8/7c. While they are not made available on the WWE Network for several weeks after they air on USA, replays of WWE SmackDown are made available on-demand with a Hulu Plus subscription starting Friday.
