Selena Gomez is reaching out to her favorite boy band alums for her upcoming Revival tour. The "Good For You" singer has hired One Direction heartthrob Louis Tomlinson's 17-year-old sister, Lottie Tomlinson, to be her hair and makeup artist on the upcoming tour, which kicks off in Las Vegas in May. In addition, the first leg of Gomez's North American concert tour will be opened by DNCE, which features Jonas Brothers alum Joe Jonas.
Selena met Tomlinson's teen sister on the set of The X Factor UK when she was with One Direction there for the show's finale last year, and the two ladies hit it off right away. In an interview with Elle, Lottie Tomlinson said she ended up helping 1D's stylist, Lou Teasdale, with Gomez' hair when the pop superstar came backstage.
"[Selena] She had really long hair at the time, and it was getting all knotted up. So I was assisting Lou with her hair, and she asked for a makeup touchup. I said, 'Sure, I can do that!' And she liked it, and we're still in contact."
Lottie, who worked hair and makeup magic for her brother and his bandmates Harry Styles, Niall Horan, and Liam Payne during One Direction's "On the Road Again" tour, dished that she'll be stocking up on a lot of Anastasia Beverly Hills products for Selena's tour. So Selenators who want to get the look should take note!In an interview with W Magazine (Selena is the March cover girl), Gomez said her music inspires the looks she wears onstage. For her new album, which she describes as "the most personal record" she's ever done, she wanted things to be a bit more "bare." It will be interesting to see what kinds of hair and makeup looks she wears on her Revival tour, but to get an idea of what to expect, fans can turn to Gomez's recent debut appearance on NBC's Saturday Night Live to see what kind of vibe she's putting out with her new music.
When Selena performed three of her new songs -- "Good For You," "Same Old Love," and "Hands to Myself" -- on the late night sketch comedy show earlier this month, the brunette beauty wore a simple black cutout gown and was joined by a team of backup dancers. When the opening act takes the stage for Selena Gomez's Revival tour, fans will likely recognize another very famous face. E! News posted a series of stills from Selena's Snapchat, in which the singer revealed that her longtime pal Joe Jonas' band DNCE will be her opening act. Gomez famously dated Jonas' brother Nick, and since they're all Disney Channel alums, this one feels like a fun little reunion. For Selena's July 9 show in Anaheim, California, YouTube sensation Charlie Puth will also be an opening act.
Gomez is known for sharing the stage with hot new acts and up and comers. (DNCE released their first single, "Cake By the Ocean," last fall.) In the past, her opening acts on tour have included AllStar weekend, Big Time Rush, Christina Grimmie, Shawn Desman, and Emblem3.
Selena Gomez will travel to 41 cities for the highly anticipated first leg of her Revival tour, but don't despair if she's not coming to your town just yet, because more dates are expected to be added. Fans can get all the details on Selena Gomez' revival tour by visiting her official website.
