Fifty Shades Darker, the highly anticipated sequel to Fifty Shades of Grey movie, has already started filming. Author EL James confirmed the news on her official Instagram page, sharing a few photos taken on the set of the franchise. Lead stars Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan will both be reprising their roles as Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey, respectively, in the movie sequel.

EL James teased Fifty Shades Darker fans by posting a copy of the script on Instagram. The author also included a line from the erotica book of the same name, which read, “I wake, with a start. Today I win her back.”

Even before the filming started, YVRShoots revealed that the cast and crew of the Fifty Shades franchise will be shooting the second movie at 110 East Cordova St. in Vancouver from February 16-24 and February 29. It was hinted that this could be the future office of Seattle Independent Publishing where Ana (Johnson) will be working with Jack Hyde (Eric Johnson).

Meanwhile, on March 4 and March 8-9, the Fifty Shades Darker crew will head to 120 Powell Street lofts to shoot exterior and interior scenes for Ana’s Seattle apartment. Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson will film in Vancouver for about five months.

While majority of the scenes in Fifty Shades Darker is expected to take place in Vancouver, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that the producers decided to shoot a few scenes in Paris, following the terror attacks last November. It was said that they wanted to send a message, voicing their support for France, through the sequel.

Dakota Johnson, Jamie Dornan, along with other cast and crew from the franchise, will reportedly shoot for “several days within the first months of this year.”

Made with only a $40 million budget, the first movie in the franchise, Fifty Shades of Grey, earned more than $500 million in the global box office. Before Deadpool, the movie held the record for the highest February debut with $85.2 million. The Merc with the Mouth easily surpassed the erotic film’s record, earning $135 million within the first three days of its release.

According to Forbes, Fifty Shades of Grey is only the sixth, now seventh, R-rated movie in history to cross the half-billion-dollar mark at the worldwide box office, alongside The Matrix Reloaded (742m), The Passion of the Christ ($611m), The Hangover part 2 ($586m), Ted ($549m) and Terminator 2 ($519m).

In other news, Dakota Johnson previously hinted that Fifty Shades Darker movie is going to be raunchier than its predecessor. In an interview with Watch What Happens Live, the How To Be Single star admitted that it was unfair that viewers get to see more of her body than Jamie Dornan’s.

“I’m going to make him get fully naked in the next one. Everybody wants to see the D. The ‘Dornan D.'”

Dakota also joked that fans should start a movement to get Jamie Dornan go full frontal on the Fifty Shades Darker movie.

Prior to filming the sequel, multiple insiders claim that The Fall actor has been offered $1.5 million to go all out in the next movie and that was just the starting figure. This, however, goes against the contract he signed when he agreed to do be Christian Grey in the Fifty Shades franchise. In spite of it, the source told Hollywood Life, that the producers promised him that the scene will be done in good taste.

“Jamie would be crazy not to consider it. They have assured Jamie that it won’t be overt but more of a brief tease – and he’ll have some creative control over how it’s handled.”

Fifty Shades Darker hits theaters February 14, 2017.
