Are Katy Perry & Orlando Bloom Getting Serious Or Just Having Fun?
Ever since Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have been spotted getting cozy and flirty at a Golden Globes after-party, rumors have been flying about the status of their relationship.
The couple have been spotted on several occasions ever since that night happened. Katy Perry was recently spotted riding shot gun in the back of Orlando Bloom’s vehicle with his 5-year-old son, Flynn. That very sighting has fans wondering if the couple is getting too serious, too soon.
Despite being linked to the actor, Perry is still in close contact with her ex-boyfriend John Mayer, according to E! Online. An alleged inside source claims that the “Birthday” singer doesn’t want to lose contact with her former flame just because she started seeing someone else.
“Katy and Orlando are doing really well. They have been hanging out a lot over the past two months. They are a very chill pair. They both communicate great and laugh when they are around each other.”
A second source then added, “Katy and John remain friends and care about each other. They just want to see each other happy. They have no animosity towards each other.”
Bloom has also been in close contact with his ex-wife Miranda Kerr for the sake of their son. Bloom and Kerr ended their marriage in 2013 after six years together. Bloom recently introduced Perry to their son, which has been going well.
“Katy has met Flynn, and they get along wonderful. She thinks he is so cute and such a well behaved kid! Katy would [also] like kids one day, and she is vocal about that.”
Even though inside sources claim that Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have been getting serious, the actor’s friend Jason Bateman says that they’re just having a lot of fun right now. He was asked about his friend’s newfound relationship by Entertainment Tonight at the Hollywood premiere of his new film, Zootopia.
“They are fun,” Bateman coyly answered. Earlier this month, the Golden Globes winner was photographed with Bloom and Perry, along with costar Jennifer Aniston, at a birthday party for Bloom’s manager, Aleen Keshishian.
A third inside source told E! Online that since Perry and Mayer remain “very close,” it wouldn’t be surprising if they got back together. “This is just what they do,” the insider added. The couple have been dating on-and-off since 2012. Perry and Mayer first rekindled their relationship in February 2015 before ending their relationship in July of that same year.
The singer’s friend Robert Tencer spoke to Britain’s Heat magazine about their couple’s relationship. He revealed that Perry considered marrying Mayer but he wasn’t ready for that kind of commitment, which is why they decided to go their separate ways.
“None of us are surprised to see things with Katy and John finally fizzle out. It’s mad, but a year ago she was talking about eloping with him, but he just never committed fully and would never support her. She’d have to go to events on her own. John was a ghost in her life.”
The friend also offered his opinion on his friend’s blossoming romance with the Pirates of the Caribbean star.
“Katy’s everything Orlando likes – smart, talented and gorgeous. Everyone thought this might be just another of his conquests, but introducing Flynn to Katy was a bit step, and none of us are in any doubt he’s really serious about her.”
Meanwhile, Bloom’s ex has been getting serious with Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel. Kerr’s recent appearance at the Saint Laurent show at New York Fashion Week has some wondering if she’s pregnant. She was spotted with a noticeably fuller figure and slightly larger belly in a black skintight sequin dress.
In addition, an alleged insider told OK! Magazine that Kerr has been “plotting” to have a second child after she heard that Bloom and Perry are getting serious.
