Fans Slam Wendy Williams After She Claims Kesha’s Dr. Luke Ruling Is ‘Fair’ [Video]
Wendy Williams is facing serious heat following her recent remarks regarding Kesha’s legal issues with music producer Dr. Luke.
Williams spoke out about Kesha’s court case — where the popstar is alleging that she was sexually abused by the producer — on The Wendy Williams Show on February 22, where Wendy described the ruling as “fair” and questioned why Kesha never attempted to covertly film Dr. Luke.
“Unfortunately, business is business and it sounds like it’s fair,” Williams replied when quizzed on her stance on the court case on her daytime talk show. “If everybody complained because somebody allegedly sexually abused them and was ripping them off then contracts would be broken all the time,” Wendy said.
Williams then went on to state that Kesha was “no spring chicken” before suggesting that the star should have attempted to gather more evidence to support her claims. “Kesha wasn’t stupid and neither was her mother when the alleged sexual abuse started,” Wendy said, “Why weren’t they rolling camera on it?”
“It’s so easy,” Wendy Williams added, “boys are so stupid, if you’re sexually abusing us it’s so easy to catch you.”

The Wendy Williams Show host also later claimed on the show that she believes Kesha’s legal case could possibly mark the end of her career. “I feel like by the time Kesha works her way out of this mess, people will have forgotten about her,” Williams said, adding that “Her foot is not as strong in the music business to begin with [and] to sustain, you know, four more years of this.”
Wendy’s somewhat controversial comments on Kesha’s legal battle raised eyebrows online, with many fans of the “We R Who We R” singer taking to social media to slam Williams over her recent remarks.
“Wendy Williams is disgusting,” Twitter user @kennaymart wrote, “She said Kesha should’ve been smarter and that she agrees with the judge cause it’s business.” @kendeellll also expressed sadness over Wendy’s comments on the 140-character site, tweeting, “I don’t appreciate Wendy Williams’ stance on the Kesha issue. Not only as a quite influential person but also as a WOMAN I’m upset.”
Other social media users even tweeted that Wendy stance on Kesha’s legal issues made them lose respect for her. “I never lost respect for Wendy no matter how much she throws shade until her opinion about Kesha….” @LebanonRihanna wrote, while @babyrizzzo wrote, “Wow… Wendy William’s is truly disgusting. What she just said about Kesha. I’m appalled.”
But this certainly isn’t the first time Wendy Williams has caused controversy with remarks she’s made on the Wendy Williams Show.
Most recently, Williams used her daytime talk show to slam Kanye West and Kim Kardashian and their marriage after the rapper went on a social media tirade against Wiz Khalifa and model Amber Rose.
“The idea that Kanye talking about Amber being a stripper, you’re not saying anything that she hasn’t admitted herself,” Wendy said at the time, adding, “As a matter of fact, Kanye, you’re the one who gave this stripper her come up.”
Wendy then brought West’s wife, Kim Kardashian, into the equation by referencing her 2003 sex tape with Ray J, stating “And by the way, we recall meeting your wife on her back.”
“I’m not going to say anything about Kanye and what people want to do behind closed doors is their business, but I am embarrassed for Kim Kardashian,” Wendy continued on the show last month, before revealing that she would not be using Kardashian’s full name — Kim Kardashian West — “because clearly that’s not a real marriage.”
“Anytime your man is out there fighting with another man and bringing up his ex. Like, why is Kanye still talking about Amber?” Wendy continued, “What kind of respect, of lack thereof, does Kanye have for his new son Saint? And his daughter? And why are you talking like that? I’m embarrassed for Kim.”
