Lamar Odom Out Shopping, Attending Sports Events And Playing Basketball

Since February, Lamar Odom has been seen out in public at least three different times after his drug overdose in October. His recovery seems to be coming along nicely; just this weekend, the former NBA player, Lamar Odom attended a local college baseball game in which Cal State Northridge Matadors played against CSU Bakersfield. Reports say that Lamar attended the baseball game alone, but he later met up with a man believed to be a trainer at the Cal State Northridge campus’ training facility.

According to the campus Associate Athletic Amy Millstone, “He was here, he stayed for the whole game, and he was cheering for Northridge.”

Rumors are circulating that after the game, Lamar played basketball on the campus, but those reports have not been confirmed.

Last week, on February 19, Lamar Odom met up with his wellness coach at the grocery store in Calabasas, Los Angeles. Reports say that Lamar looked happy and healthy. Lamar and his coach spent some time shopping only to emerge later with a bag of groceries. Although for many people grocery shopping is an everyday occurrence, to Lamar it meant so much more. It showed that his health is improving every day.

The first confirmed outing for Lamar Odom was actually on February 11, when he and the Kardashian/Jenner family flew to New York during the New York Fashion Week. Lamar walked in on his own to join his estranged wife Khloé Kardashian, Kim Kardashian West and her daughter North West, Kourtney Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner, Kris Jenner and Caitlyn Jenner at Kanye West’s fashion show where he introduced his new line, Yeezy Season 3.

Khloé Kardashian, who often has said that she is not reconciling with her husband Lamar, spends a lot of time with him and by his side. A source told E! Online, “When Lamar isn’t in physical therapy he is with Khloé. They continue to be closer than ever. No one really knows what will happen with them in the future. Khloé is so proud of him. She encourages and motivates him everyday.”

Not only does Khloé spend a lot of time with Lamar, the kids of Kourtney Kardashian and Kim Kardashian West spend time with him too. They have been very instrumental in Lamar’s treatment and recovery process.

“So, he’s been doing really good. I think it makes him feel good to be around everyone, too, and to just be in a happy environment over obviously where he was.”

Khloé Kardashian shared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that Lamar Odom has a great long-term memory, but his short-term memory is not as good. However, she went on to say that she could relate because she has a similar problem.

“If I met someone earlier today, I probably wouldn’t remember either, so that’s understandable. But he’s great.”

Lamar is undergoing therapy and it seems to have done the former NBA player a lot of good.

“Right now, they have him focusing on lower body strength exercises. He makes a little bit of progress every day, but it’s still baby steps. He went from not being able to even stand on his own, to now, he is almost power-walking.”

On Super Bowl Sunday, Khloé Kardashian and Kim Kardashian West went on a nature hike with Lamar Odom and they live-streamed it. Although they never showed Lamar’s face, they always made sure that everyone knew he was with them. They included hints that Lamar was really with them by posting pictures of a man’s arm, legs or shadow.

Lamar Odom allegedly overdosed at a Nevada brothel, the Love Ranch, and was unconscious when they discovered him. He was transported to the nearest hospital, stabilized and then moved to the Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas,Nevada, where he was put on life support. Lamar was in a coma for about 72 hours. Khloé dropped everything to be with her almost ex-husband, as film crews captured the details. She cancelled their divorce and took full control over Lamar’s finances, medical decisions and she had the final say on who could visit Lamar and when.

When Lamar Odom came to, Khloé had him transferred to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, where he suffered many setbacks like pneumonia and dialysis because his kidneys weren’t working. Lamar made great progress, and went from being unable to walk to walking on his own. Lamar was recently released from the hospital in January, and he was admitted into a private rehab center located near Khloé Kardashian’s Calabasas home.

Lamar Odom has overcome many obstacles caused by his drug overdose. Do you think he will ever be able to come back into his profession of playing basketball or will he forever be on the sidelines, thinking of the life he used to live?
