Patrick Dempsey And Wife Continue To Get Their Marriage On Track

Patrick Dempsey might not have had a good 2015, but this year, things are looking good for the actor. The former Grey’s Anatomy star is focusing on his marriage to Jillian Fink to keep divorce off the table.

Last month, People reported that the formerly estranged couple have been repairing their marriage for the past year, and decided to call off the divorce. On February 18, People posted exclusive photos of the couple vacationing in St. Barts. Most of the photos show the couple walking together on a beach, with Dempsey wearing swimming boxers, and Fink in a string bikini.

Fink was the first to file for divorce in January 2015, citing irreconcilable differences. Rumors then surfaced that Dempsey had an affair with a behind-the-scenes worker on the Grey’s Anatomy set. While never officially confirmed, the affair was allegedly one of the reasons that the actor was written off on the hit show, which came earlier than his contract stated.

Dempsey saw his time end on Grey’s Anatomy on April 23, 2015 with the episode “How to Save a Life” as his character’s final appearance on the long-running hospital drama. Fans were shocked that McDreamy was killed off, especially when it was announced in January 2015, that the actor renewed his Grey’s Anatomy contract for another two years.

The actor did state to Entertainment Weekly that he had two small projects in the work post-Grey’s Anatomy, but as of February 2016, no updated information has been released. The two small screen projects were The Limit for Sundance TV, and Fodors, which is described as travelogue spy thriller.

After the divorce announcement made its rounds throughout the media, Patrick Dempsey continued to wear his wedding ring. Sources claimed that when Fink filed for divorce, it was a wake-up call for Dempsey to repair the marriage instead of going through with terminating the marriage.

Another insider came forward and stated that Dempsey was going through a mid-life crisis at the time the marriage was falling apart. Dempsey supposedly took full responsibility for cracks in his marriage to Fink, and decided to do whatever it takes to keep his family together.

The past several months consisted of Dempsey and Fink showing up together in different events, and having more date nights. Last November, they were seen in Paris walking while holding hands, and bike riding together.

Fink did post a couple of images that included Dempsey on her Instagram feed. One image featured the couple wearing construction hard hats that Fink took on Dempsey’s 50th birthday.

Another image features Dempsey in a black and white filter while sporting a knitted hat in support for apparel label Love Your Melon, an organization that helps give hats to kids with cancer.

Dempsey and Fink, a make-up artist and hairstylist, married on July 31, 1999. Together, they have three children, daughter Talula, and twin sons, Darby and Sullivan.

Jillian Fink is Dempsey’s second wife. The actor formerly known as McDreamy married his manager Rochelle “Rocky” Parker, who was 27 years older than Dempsey, back in 1987. The former couple appeared in the 1987 film In the Mood, where Dempsey played Ellsworth Clewer “Sonny” Wisecarver, Jr., who gained notoriety for his affairs with older women. Dempsey and Parker divorced in 1994.

The actor spent the rest of 2015 concentrating on his racing career. Patrick Dempsey has his own official site dedicated to his racing team. Last October, he had his first racing win with the World Endurance Championship Six Hour of Fuji race.

Despite a good racing record in 2015, Dempsey decided to put racing on the back burner this year to concentrate on filming, and his family. Dempsey will appear in the upcoming Bridget Jones’s Baby with Renee Zellweger and Colin Firth. The third film in the Bridget Jones franchise has a September 16, 2016 release date.
