‘Married At First Sight’ Season 3: Tres And Vanessa Talk About Their Relationship, Being Attracted Since Day One

Married At First Sight season 3 star Tres Russell opened up about his relationship with Vanessa Nelson and what it was like being married to a complete stranger. With only a couple of days until MAFS viewers find out if the couple decided to stay married, the former “player” talked about how the social experiment changed his views on love and life.

In an interview with Global Grind, Tres, half of Married At First Sight season 3 fan favorite couple Team Trenessa, admitted that he has been attracted to Vanessa since the first time he laid eyes on her. The reality star explained that they did not know who they would end up with and just hoped for the best.

Seeing Vanessa walk down the aisle, Tres felt like he was the luckiest guy alive for being paired to her.

“When I saw her, I was just like, oh my gosh. She’s absolutely stunning. And I wished that I had known her for years so this was done the right way.”

Probably one of the most memorable moments in Married At First Sight season 3 history is Tres’ surprise proposal. Before the ceremony even started, he apologized and took off, which caused people to wonder if he was having second thoughts about marrying Vanessa. Turns out, Tres just got a corsage to serve as an engagement ring, went down on one knee and asked Vanessa’s hand in marriage.

Vanessa’s family was incredibly touched by Tres’ gesture as they stood up and cheered for the couple.

“I was definitely moved because that showed real commitment,” Vanessa’s sister Kenya said.

Looking back at that moment, Tres said that he only thought about proposing the last second. The Married At First Sight season 3 star explained that he thought he was shortchanging Vanessa by just marrying her out of the blue.

“Once I saw Vanessa I knew that yes, I need to do this, she needs to have this the right way. So I wanted to make sure I made her feel special and not skip out on the proposal part.”

Tres admitted that being attracted to Vanessa since day one made things a little bit easier. He, however, insisted that there is much more to her than her looks. Vanessa’s family seemed to have warmed up to Tres easily.

The Married At First Sight season 3 star explained that he made it his goal for them to feel at ease, knowing that the whole process is far from what they were used to. Tres assured Vanessa’s side of the family that he will take care of their precious little girl.

In a separate interview with the outlet, Vanessa shared that she was able to relax a little bit when she saw how Tres connected with her family and friends. The reality star shared that she definitely appreciated all his efforts. Given that she agreed to be married to a complete stranger, it was understandable that she had her doubts at first. However, seeing Tres with her family gave her hope that the social experiment might work after all.

“I heard him introducing himself, and they were laughing with him, so I was like, well, you know, if they’re laughing and they’re having a good time, then it can’t be bad.”
