Blake Shelton Charms Everyone But Grumpy Cat With Sweet Tribute To Gwen Stefani: Gwen’s Ex Causes Wait For Wedding?

Blake Shelton is devoted to Gwen Stefani — and she’s reciprocating. Whether they’re flaunting their love with extreme public displays of affection at a party or using music to illustrate just how true their romance remains, Blake and his lady are making it clear that their relationship is permanent. Most recently, Shelton charmed fans with a sweet tribute to Gwen at a concert, reported Hollywood Life.

Fans were eagerly awaiting to hear Blake to perform on stage at Cincinnati’s U.S. Bank Arena. But before Shelton began his concert, one of Stefani’s songs emerged from a speaker system to delight listeners.

Social media followers couldn’t resist sharing their pleasure at the tribute from Blake to his girlfriend.

“Love how supportive they are of each other!” commented one fan.

But shocking as it may seem to such fans, there’s one celebrity who is not so impressed by Shelton. And that’s Grumpy Cat, who joined Blake in a promo for the 2016 Kids’ Choice Awards, reported America’s Morning Show.

Shelton tries his best in the promo, seeking to tell Grumpy Cat some purr-fectly cute cat puns.

“I think it’s fair to call myself a Hunger Games super fan. Yeah, you know what I’m talking about Grumpy cat … niss,” reveals Blake in a punny reference to Hunger Games’ Katniss Everdeen. “If I could slime just one person, it would definitely be Dwayne Johnson. I mean, I can picture it meow. You gotta be kitten me.”

But as you can see below, Shelton didn’t succeed in persuading Grumpy Cat to even wave one paw of approval. Blake will try to wow humans instead when he hosts the 2016 Kids’ Choice Awards on Saturday, March 12 at 8 p.m. ET. Shelton will also be finding out if he won in the category of Favorite Male Singer at the fan-voted award show.

Even though Grumpy Cat isn’t a fan, Shelton definitely has Stefani on his side. But although the two are getting increasingly serious, her ex, Gavin Rossdale, remains a problem, according to Hollywood Life.

Stefani wants to marry Blake, and Shelton has made it clear by his PDA parade that he’s in love, as well. But Rossdale is still delaying on their divorce. Even though they broke up in August, 2015, the divorce has not yet been finalized.

A source cited by Hollywood Life listed money matters as the reason for Gavin to delay finalizing the divorce despite Gwen’s best attempts.

“[Stefani] has been pushing her attorneys to do all they can to finalize her divorce from Gavin as soon as possible,” added the insider.

And it’s not a one-sided rush down the aisle, because Blake is equally eager, according to that source. Adding to the intrigue, Miranda Lambert and Shelton had their divorce finalized in less than a month, revealing just how long Gavin has draw out his own divorce. Moreover, Miranda feels that she’s competing to get wed first, and it’s a mutual race to the altar, said the same insider.

“[The two women are in a race] to see who can get married first,” revealed the source.

The delay that Gavin has caused in the finalization of the divorce is a dramatic contrast to Lambert and Blake. Shelton pointed out that because he and Miranda did not have children, it was impressively fast, reported E News.

“In Oklahoma, it happens so fast,” Blake commented. “Like, Miranda and I didn’t have any kids, and we had a prenuptial agreement, or whatever we had. So, it was like once we filed for divorce… it was like a nine- or 10-day waiting period until it’s over. Even if we knew of rumblings and rumors started coming out, they would just be that.”

Shelton revealed that the speed of the divorce eased the likelihood of endless rumors.

“By the time anybody knew anything, it was over. It was done,” added Blake.

As for how Shelton feels know about Lambert?

“Our whole thing was, we are going to be cool about this. It is what it is,” declared Blake. “We’re buddies.”

Once the divorce is finalized, is there anything that could cause more problems if Shelton persuades Stefani to move to his beloved Oklahoma? Gwen’s and Gavin’s arrangement stipulates joint custody of their trio of sons, Kingston, 9, Zuma, 7, Apollo, 1. However, a source told Radar that their divorce settlement does not have any clauses requiring either to stay in Los Angeles.

“There is no clause in Gavin and Gwen’s divorce settlement stating that both parties have to remain living in Los Angeles until their youngest son turns eighteen. They share joint custody of the kids, but there would be nothing stopping Gwen from moving to Oklahoma to be with Blake,” said the source.
